Highlights

  • Mothball now updates itself. Once a day it checks for a new version. When one is out, a banner shows what's new, downloads it in the background and asks you to restart. Every update is checked against its checksum, your Mac's Gatekeeper and Mothball's own signature before it's installed.
  • What's new, inside the app. Release notes like these open right in Mothball.
  • Appearance. Follow your system, or pick Light or Dark in Settings.

  • The menu bar shows when an update is ready.
  • mothball update tells command line users how to update for the way they installed.
  • Update checks can be turned off in Settings. Nothing about you or your projects is sent.

Install

macOS app (Apple silicon and Intel, macOS 11 or later): download Mothball-0.1.1.dmg, open it and drag Mothball to Applications. It is signed and notarised. If you have 0.1.0, install this one over it; from here on Mothball updates itself.

Command line only: download the binary for your system below, or go install github.com/herocodess/mothball/cli/mothball@v0.1.1.

Windows and Linux get the command line tool in this release; the desktop app for them is next. Checksums are in checksums-0.1.1.txt.
