Highlights

  • Mothball for Windows. The desktop app now runs on Windows 10 and 11, natively on both Intel and AMD PCs and Arm PCs (Snapdragon, Surface Pro). It installs for your account with no admin prompt, sits in the system tray, starts with Windows, adds the mothball command to your PATH, and updates itself.
  • Tested on real Windows machines. Every change is now installed, opened, updated and uninstalled on Windows x64 and Arm64 before it ships, and run against fake projects on Windows, Linux and macOS.

Fixes

  • Waking a Python, Gradle or Maven project now works on Windows.
  • Counts read properly ("1 project", not "1 projects").

Install

macOS (Apple silicon and Intel, macOS 11 or later): download Mothball-0.1.2.dmg, open it and drag Mothball to Applications. If you have 0.1.1, Mothball offers this update itself.

Windows: download Mothball-0.1.2-windows-x64-setup.exe for Intel and AMD PCs, or Mothball-0.1.2-windows-arm64-setup.exe for Arm PCs (Settings > System > About > System type tells you which). The installer is not code signed yet, so SmartScreen may warn you: choose More info, then Run anyway.

Linux and the command line only: download the binary for your system below, or go install github.com/herocodess/mothball/cli/mothball@v0.1.2. The Linux desktop app is next.
