Wheel Rotation Range is incorrect with Thrustmaster TS-PC #512
|
When setting the Rotation Range for the wheel, if I picked 40° it acts like it's about 90°. It does not line up at all with the same setting in the Thrustmaster program. Is there something I'm missing? Personally I'd like the option to not have Padforge override it. |

@pobgithub This was PadForge's bug, and commit 713e6bd on the v5 dev branch fixes it. PadForge never sent a TS-PC less than 140°. Set the slider to 40° and the wheel was told 140°, while the slider still read 40°. That floor came from the Linux driver PadForge's Thrustmaster support was checked against. Thrustmaster's own documentation gives the TS-PC 40° to 1,080°, and PadForge now sends the angle you set anywhere in that range. The slider now stops at the limits PadForge uses for each wheel, so the angle it shows is the angle PadForge sends. Checking every supported wheel the same way found two more Thrustmaster models set wrong. The TS-XW now goes down to 40° as well, and the T248 starts at 180°, the minimum Thrustmaster gives for it. You also asked for a way to keep PadForge from setting the range at all. That would be a new setting, and it isn't part of this fix. I'll answer that part here. The fix comes with the next v5 dev build and the next release. Confirmed here: tests pin each supported wheel's limits, and switching between two wheels on one controller slot keeps each wheel's own range. Not run here: a TS-PC itself. |

@pobgithub The option you asked for is in. Commit 45da6c1 on the v5 dev branch adds Set Rotation Range to the Wheel tab, right above the Rotation Range slider. Clear it and PadForge sends your TS-PC no range at all, so it no longer overrides the range you set in Thrustmaster's control panel. Clearing the box does not undo a range PadForge already sent, so set the range in the control panel once after you clear it. The setting is kept per wheel, and it comes with the next v5 dev build and the next release. Confirmed here: tests cover the setting's default, that a cleared box sends no range, that it survives saving and switching between two wheels, and its reset. Not run here: a TS-PC itself. |
