When Padforge is outputting as a Dualsense, Rumble to Audio does not work. #522
|
I am using a real Dualsense Edge in the EA game skate. If I change the Padforge to emulate a Dualshock 4 or Xbox controller then the Rumble to Audio is working, but not when it's set to any Dualsense type. Is this happening for anyone else? |

does the built in test rumble produce audio while the slot is set to DualSense? current rumble to audio routing merges the test vibration state with the game motor feedback if the test works but skate stays silent that narrows it to the game feedback path rather than the audio output native DualSense audio haptics are a different signal from motor rumble please include the PadForge version and whether the Edge is connected by USB or Bluetooth |

I am using Padforge 5.0.0 and the Dualsense Edge is connected by USB. Yes, all the Test buttons and Frequency Sweep are functioning when outputting as Dualsense. I've tested a couple other games, all with Steam Input disabled: In the Cranked demo it is the same as with skate. Audio is not sent to my bass shaker in Dualsense mode. In BallisticNG the bass shaker is getting audio even in Dualsense mode. Thank you for looking into this. |

@pobgithub, this is fixed on v5-dev and ships with the next release. Bass Shakers followed rumble only. A game that plays the DualSense's haptics over USB sends them as audio on the controller's two haptic channels instead of as rumble. On the DualSense (PS5): Full and DualSense Edge (PS5): Full profiles, PadForge passed that audio on to your Edge and gave the shaker nothing. skate. and the Cranked demo both list DualSense haptics over USB, which fits what you saw. A DualShock 4 or Xbox virtual controller gets ordinary rumble from the same games, and BallisticNG working on a DualSense fits a game that sends ordinary rumble there. Your check that the Test buttons and Frequency Sweep still worked in DualSense mode, which @morvayo asked for, ruled out the audio output and pointed at the game's feedback. Bass Shakers now follows the haptic audio too: the left haptic channel drives Low Motor and the right drives High Motor, at the frequencies and gains you set on the tab. Rumble plays as before, and the louder of the two wins on each voice. It works on the two Full DualSense profiles, which carry the controller's audio. The Full DualSense is the default for PlayStation slots. The page: Bass Shakers. |
