Codefx CLI 0.164.0 is a stable release. The command remains codex; codex --version reports codefx 0.164.0. CLI update checks use Codefx releases.

All six native packages have passed installation, repeat installation, resource checks, and running app-server daemon migration on their corresponding GitHub-hosted architecture. Each archive has an attached <target>.sha256, build provenance JSON and Cargo lock normalization patch. codex-package_SHA256SUMS covers all six archives.
Installation
Use the current installation instructions or download the verified installer bundle and its .zip.sha256 attachment. The bundle pins its bootstrap to installer commit 38f48572fe9fa3c48bafe882fc496aac2c025e4b and contains per-file checksums and provenance.
The revised installer downloads and validates the new package before switching commands, retains npm/pnpm/Bun/Vite+/Homebrew registrations, and restores the previous installation if cutover fails. Save work and close active Codex sessions first. Optional --stop-running / -StopRunning requests a bounded normal shutdown from an external terminal; Windows console sessions may require manual closure. Windows daemon migration requires a non-elevated PowerShell that allows detached background processes.
Configured independent daemons migrate through the verified CLI while preserving their running or stopped state. This pins the daemon to that CLI package. Run codex app-server daemon update to return to Codefx production updates; the CLI itself continues checking Codefx releases.
Source archive warning: the immutable rust-v0.164.0 binary build tag preserves historical replacement wrappers that uninstall old packages before downloading. Do not use those archived wrappers. Use the revised installer bundle or the current installation instructions above. Binary build source remains b3d612472291d6b0b6f44db77e187920ebfa7425; installer maintenance is tracked independently.
