This release joins block schema into one page graph, checks it with a validator, and moves the editor controls to native WordPress components.
Page graph
- Each single post or page now has one WebPage node, keyed by its URL. Other entities link to it.
- An FAQ block turns that node into an FAQPage with the questions as
mainEntity. It no longer nests an FAQPage inside a WebPage. - With Yoast SEO, block schema merges into Yoast's own WebPage node, for example
["WebPage", "FAQPage"]. - The core Breadcrumbs block (WordPress 7.0+) outputs a BreadcrumbList by default. The page links to it with
breadcrumb.
Missing data and validation
- An Article fills in its headline, dates, image, author and publisher from the post when no block provides them. The author is a Person and the publisher links to the site Organization.
- Structured data is checked with humanmade/schema-org-validator. It covers the full schema.org vocabulary, Google rich-result rules and the plugin's own required properties.
- A "Schema.org" panel in the pre-publish checks lists problems. Missing recommended properties appear as suggestions. It never blocks publishing.
- The
get-schema-graphability returnsissues, and can build a draft inside its block template.
Editor
- The inspector uses native components. Property mappings live in a "Schema.org properties" panel, and entity settings are in the Advanced panel.
- Type and property pickers only offer valid choices, and lock when only one fits.
- A property added from the menu gets a suggested source, such as the site Organization for Publisher.
Other
- The release ZIP now includes the validator in
vendor/. - PHP code style checks run in CI.
Google no longer shows FAQ or How-to rich results. The plugin still outputs valid FAQPage and HowTo markup, which other consumers can read.
