Changed
One paragraph rule. Every engine and every import now break paragraphs the same way: Parakeet, Whisper, Deepgram and AssemblyAI, and VTT, SRT and Whisper JSON files. A change of speaker always starts a paragraph. Otherwise a paragraph ends at a sentence end, after a pause of more than four seconds or once it has passed a hundred words. The same recording reads the same however it arrived. (#743)
Whisper on transformers.js 4.3.1. The built-in Whisper engine moves to transformers.js 4.3.1, still carrying the memory fix the editor has shipped since 1.3.25. In Safari 26 and later, Whisper now runs on the GPU. (part of #462)
Parakeet (Local) frees a stuck decoder. Two seconds of nothing after a sentence end resets the decoder, so sparse speech after a pause is no longer dropped. (part of #671)
Fixed
A project never claims a video it doesn't hold. A video could go missing without a word: when copying it into browser storage failed, when the browser was quit while a large video was still being copied, or when its name started or ended with a space. A failed save is now reported at the time, and a project whose video is missing or empty says so, plays nothing, and offers to reattach the file. (#742)
Clip exports burned words outside the selection. A caption the selection started or ended inside was burned whole, with its unselected words lit up at the clip's end, and the VTT and SRT carried them too. A clip's captions now carry only its selected words. (#748)
Dual-speaker captions. A one-word turn without punctuation, such as a word a diarizer gave to the other speaker mid-sentence, no longer becomes a line of a dual-speaker caption. (#749, caption.js 2.3.1)
Controls under the video on narrow screens could be scrolled up under the video. (#746)
Paragraph timecodes went off the edge of the transcript card in a window just wide enough to keep Recents open. The transcript now gives up only the room the timecodes need. (#747)
