ControlOS v2.1.2. Keyless build: it updates itself from this repo.

Install

  • controlos-v2.1.2-share-factory.bin: first install over USB (open https://web.esphome.io in Chrome, connect the panel, choose Install)
  • controlos-v2.1.2-share-ota.bin: Wi-Fi update (panels with auto-update fetch it themselves)
  • Fallback hotspot password: controlos-setup. Set Wi-Fi on the panel's setup screen.

Changes

  • Note in the contributor rules that the panel works without the Home Assistant package
  • Fetch hourly weather, feels-like and rain chance straight from Home Assistant, no package needed
  • Centre the time and icons vertically in the status bar
  • Rebuild the website with Vite: real 3D panel model, AVIF screenshots, cache-proof file names
  • Make the status bar a little taller so its text is not pressed against the top of the screen
  • Add more space between the status bar and the screen headers on every screen
  • Show more on the Weather screen: next hours, feels like, humidity, wind, rain chance and a plain five-day list without bars
  • Centre the Lights title and Wall switch, the Blinds buttons and the Inbox unread count, and move the Settings page dots lower
  • Remove the thick side stripe from the unsupported-version note
  • Make the unsupported reminder on older website versions stand out
  • Show older website versions as unsupported only when opened, not in the name
  • Mark older website versions as unsupported with a reminder next to their downloads
  • Add a mobile menu button so the website header links are reachable on phones
  • Use the flat panel on phones so the website no longer breaks or flickers while scrolling
  • Make the website's 3D panel smaller on desktop and stop hover tips getting stuck
  • Improve website text contrast, soften the hero label, keep hotspot tips on screen
  • Set the website title to just ControlOS
  • Let visitors drag the website's 3D panel to spin it all the way round
  • Replace hero tooltips with hover hotspots, put Get started in the nav, bust the cached background
  • Stop the website serving stale scripts and styles after an update
  • Polish the website: HA logo, favicon in the header, squarer devices, slimmer footer, smooth background
