Use your Android phone's mobile data on a Windows PC over USB or Wi-Fi, without turning on the phone's hotspot.

Install

  1. On the PC (Windows 10 1809+ or 11, x64): run SmartTether-Setup.exe. Windows SmartScreen may warn because the installer is not code-signed: choose More info → Run anyway.
  2. On the phone (Android 12+, arm64): install SmartTether.apk.
  3. Pair: plug in USB with USB debugging on, or click Show code in the tray app and scan it from the phone app.

Notes

  • 0.2.0 uses a new link protocol. The PC and the phone must both run 0.2.0.
  • The APK is signed with the same key as earlier builds (certificate SHA-256 97dcaf8ea602ca67d305eba08ab8c3538cbc34e1f8a10721670ff9ca6002881a), so it installs over a previous install.
  • Check downloads against the .sha256 files.
