Driveleaf 0.1.0
The first release of Driveleaf, a fast, open-source disk space analyzer for Windows. It reads the NTFS Master File Table directly, so a full drive scans in moments, and shows what fills your disk as a treemap you can click through.
Download Driveleaf_0.1.0_x64-setup.exe to install, or Driveleaf_0.1.0_x64-portable.exe to run without installing. Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit. More at driveleaf.app.
These files are not code signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may warn about a new app. Choose More info, then Run anyway. You can check each file against
SHA256SUMS.txt.
What's in it
- Scans NTFS volumes by reading the Master File Table in parallel, and everything else with a parallel folder walk. On a fast NVMe drive, 712,000 records take 0.32 s.
- Shows a drive as a folder tree and a WebGL2 treemap, selected in sync, with animated zoom into folders and the names of the largest tiles.
- Lists the largest files and the space per file type, and searches every name with
Ctrl+K. - Opens items in Explorer, copies paths, shows properties and sends to the Recycle Bin after a confirmation. System files are refused.
- Counts hard links once, and counts compressed, sparse and CompactOS files by the clusters they really use.
- Comes in English and Brazilian Portuguese, with light and dark themes that follow the system.
- Makes no network connections at all.
driveleaf-cliprints a whole drive as CSV or JSON.
The numbers and how they were measured are in docs/benchmarks.md.
