Comments
just here, 0.2.0. "Smart HTTPS" is 0.1.8. |
The last commit to this repo was in January though? |

See forks, mrdonkenny has "latest" and best version. I have talked to ilGur1132 @ FF/MZDN about needing to update Smart https on Github but he doesn't seem interested... So where do we go from here? I really want to see a working version of Smart Https at Opera Addons as this ext is the only one that's working (thanks to mrdonkenny) AND is compatible with Opera's VPN. |
The version hosted here is 0.2.0: https://github.com/ilGur1132/Smart-HTTPS/blob/master/manifest.json However, the version available in release channel on AMO is 0.2.2: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/smart-https-revived/#detail-relnotes This was released on the 13th September, but the repo here has not been updated since January 2017. This means that the latest version of Smart HTTPS on AMO is not hosted in this repo. |
It seems that iLGurl1132 has abandoned Smart HTTPS for Chrome, Opera, Vivaldi etc. but continues to develope webext version. I have talked to iLGurl1132 on MZD/FFaddons about the situation here on Github that urgent update is needed, well a pull merge, but it seems iLGurl1132 isn't interested. Therefor my suggestion is that Smart HTTPS here on Github should be forked and branded with a different name & look, and improve functionality. Like what Kenny has done - but go further ~ beyond further. |
No development from iLGurl1132 thus far...? |
So, Smart HTTPS (revived) is no longer free/open source, is that it? I guess that means I'll switch back to HTTPS Everywhere, now that there is a webextension version of it available. |
Well the latest version was released May 29, 2018 |
It looks like there's now a newer version of this addon under the name Smart HTTPS (revived), but I can't find the source repository for the new addon. Could you advise me on where this can be found? Thank you.
