Highlights

v0.25.5 is a fix release: malt shows the setup steps that packages ask for, more casks install and upgrade, and the prefix stays clean.

  • Setup steps you can see. mt install, mt upgrade and mt info show formula caveats, also for tap and local formulae. mt install shows cask caveats too.
  • More casks install and upgrade. You can upgrade a cask while its app runs. Casks with a nested container, such as Steam, install, upgrade and roll back. Installers with longer redirect chains, such as Battle.net, download.
  • A cleaner prefix. mt purge --unused-deps removes the opt/ link of each dependency it removes, and mt doctor reports dangling opt/ links.
