Tutor LMS Advanced Customization Toolkit v1.1.0 - Metadata Storage for Query Blocks
This release expands the functionality of the plugin, formerly known as Tutor LMS Template Override Plugin. It now includes advanced features that enhance compatibility with query blocks like GreenShift, while retaining its original focus on template customization with Blocksy's Content Blocks.
Key Features in v1.1.0:
- Metadata Storage for Ratings:
Tutor LMS dynamically calculates rating_sum (sum of all ratings) and rating_count (number of ratings) using SQL queries, making them inaccessible to query blocks like GreenShift. With this update, the plugin stores these calculated values as static metadata in the WordPress database:
- tutor_course_rating_count: Stores the total number of ratings for a course.
- tutor_course_average_rating: Stores the average rating for a course (calculated as rating_sum / rating_count).
- Dynamic Updates:
Metadata is automatically recalculated and updated:
- When a course is saved.
- When a review is approved, unapproved, or deleted.
This allows for dynamic displays in query blocks such as progress bars, rating indicators, or review counts.
- Improved Naming and Purpose:
The plugin has been renamed to Tutor LMS Advanced Customization Toolkit to better reflect its expanded functionality.
Original Features Retained:
Template Overrides for Blocksy Content Blocks:
- Seamless integration with Blocksy's Content Blocks to override templates for Tutor LMS course archives.
- Uses WordPress's default template hierarchy, providing greater design flexibility in the Gutenberg editor.
