error after installing ionic start sass

After installing ionic start sass
then running ionic serve
I get the following error:
events.js:72 throw er; // Unhandled 'error' event ^ Error: spawn ENOENT at errnoException (child_process.js:988:11) at Process.ChildProcess._handle.onexit (child_process.js:779:34)

Hello,

I got the same error on Windows 8.

I just follow each step (for android),
and after the command ionic start sass it creates this Unhandled error

Ionic serve is only working if I remove "sass":true from ionic.project file

I tried Manual Installation but same error.

Any news about this error?

no info as yet someone else reported it a couple of days ago to on the main branch ionic-team/ionic-framework#2123

the issue is definitely woth the sass part just unfortunate this is what i really need to work >_<

Same issue here exactly.
After sass setup it writes the above mentioned error and aborts. And indeed, only setting sass to false in the ionic.project file, overrides the problem, but leaves me without sass compilation.

When you're in the app's working directory, are you able to run gulp sass?

I have same problem on W8.1. Yes, I'm able to run gulp sass.
I think that it is something connected with node js how handle path to file in windows environment when spawn process.

Same here: I'm also able to run gulp sass, and I use a gulp watch instead to be able to work with sass in ionic.

I think @aleho70 is correct, and looks like using spawn (which we use to kick off the gulp process) has its issues:
nodejs/node-v0.x-archive#2318

I'll toy around with some solutions, thanks.

I changed gulp's spawn process to use https://www.npmjs.org/package/cross-spawn instead.

To test it out, please run npm install -g ionic@1.2.4-beta1 and let me know how it goes. Thanks!
