Iris Chat channels 0.2.2
OpenClaw, Hermes, and OpenCode can ask their paired Iris contact for permission. Use Reply on the specific prompt and type allow once or deny. OpenClaw also offers always allow when it can bind the grant to the displayed command, arguments, and folder.
The plugins check the quoted prompt against their sent-message history and the host's pending request. A bare decision, an ambiguous quote, or a reply to an expired request grants no permission.
Verified with OpenClaw 2026.10.9, Hermes 0.22.5, and OpenCode 1.19.5. The OpenCode test exchanged encrypted messages between disposable Iris accounts. ClawHub Plugin Inspector reported zero findings. Source commit 86ac4f4.
Iris Chat channels 0.2.1
Setup now offers to install Iris when it is missing in OpenClaw, Hermes, OpenCode, Pi, nanobot, and the ZeroClaw bridge.
- Reuses existing Iris installations; never upgrades them automatically.
- Downloads Iris CLI 2026.10.30 from its tagged GitHub release and verifies a bundled SHA-256 before running it.
- Installs in the private channel folder without administrator access or PATH changes. Supports Apple Silicon/Intel Macs and x86_64 Linux, including WSL.
- Preserves existing identities and contacts. Gateway startup never downloads software.
- The ZeroClaw WASM component remains unchanged at 0.2.0; use the updated 0.2.1 bridge.

Source: 1553135. These archives were built twice with identical SHA-256 values. Existing 0.2.0 releases are unchanged.
Validation: installer and transport regression tests; five packaged setup commands tested twice without Iris on PATH; five Hermes host tests; six JavaScript tests; real pinned macOS CLI installation; ClawHub Plugin Inspector passed with zero findings. Full six-host messaging tests were not rerun because message handling is unchanged.
Iris Chat channels v0.2.0
Native Iris Chat channels for OpenCode, Pi, nanobot, and ZeroClaw, alongside Hermes and OpenClaw.
Iris Chat provides Signal-like Nostr Double Ratchet messaging without phone numbers or signup. Each channel admits one explicitly paired contact, keeps its host's existing model and tool permissions, sends seen/typing status, and avoids automatically replaying interrupted tasks.
Install
OpenClaw is available on ClawHub:
openclaw plugins install clawhub:@irislib/openclaw-iris-chat
openclaw iris setupAll install guides: Hermes, OpenCode, Pi, nanobot, and ZeroClaw.
OpenCode and Pi are published on npm as @irislib/opencode-iris-chat and @irislib/pi-iris-chat. Their registry integrities match the release archives. nanobot uses the wheel below; ZeroClaw needs both the component ZIP and bridge archive. The guides include setup and host requirements.
Validation
Validation used real OpenCode 1.19.5, Pi 1.4.0, nanobot 0.4.0, ZeroClaw 0.8.7, and Iris CLI 2026.10.30 in a disposable network-disabled container. Throwaway identities exchanged encrypted requests/replies through a local relay; each host called a deterministic local model and its actual file-reading tool. All four passed a second turn, seen receipts, and successful typing refresh/stop. OpenCode also passed one-time permission approval over Iris. No personal contacts or paid models were used.
The ZeroClaw component passed strict signature and ABI installation with a throwaway test publisher. The distributed component is unsigned and includes its SHA-256; strict installations require signing with an operator-approved key. It requires the separate loopback bridge. Never publish the bridge port. Messages are decrypted for the host and its model provider; channel plugins do not isolate agent tools from the computer.
Every archive embeds its source commit. SHA256SUMS covers all assets. Host artifacts, dependencies, and the WIT contract are pinned in source; the WASM build recipe pins the compiler and remaps local paths. Package archives reproduce byte-for-byte for the same committed inputs. Hermes/OpenClaw runtime code is unchanged in this release; their metadata now links to irischat.org.
Iris Chat channels 0.1.1
Catalog-ready metadata and setup documentation for the native Hermes and OpenClaw channels. Adds explicit host compatibility, install metadata, and transport/privacy disclosures. Describes Iris Chat as Signal-like messaging using Nostr Double Ratchet, without phone numbers or signup, with nearby messaging over local networks and Bluetooth. Runtime behavior is unchanged from 0.1.0. Hermes admission validation and the OpenClaw plugin inspector pass.
Native Iris Chat channels 0.1.0
Native text channels for Hermes 0.22.5 and OpenClaw 2026.10.9. Includes persistent dedicated identities, single-contact pairing, typing lifecycle, and deterministic source archives with checksums. See the README for setup and tested host requirements.
