Irori 0.3 takes on the look of your Linux desktop. On KDE Plasma, COSMIC and Omarchy it follows the desktop's theme by default, and on other desktops it picks up your accent colour. Every change applies while Irori runs, with no restart.

Highlights

  • KDE Plasma: Irori uses your colour scheme and accent colour, including schemes from a Global Theme.
  • COSMIC: Irori uses COSMIC's surfaces, accent, status colours and corner radius. Automatic translucency now follows Frosted glass → Windows, and takes its strength from Frost thickness and Glass opacity.
  • Omarchy: Irori follows the active theme, including third-party themes, and updates as soon as you switch with omarchy-theme-set.
  • Other Linux desktops: Irori keeps its own theme in your desktop's accent colour, through the XDG settings portal. This works on GNOME 47+, and on Cinnamon, MATE and Xfce with xdg-desktop-portal-xapp 1.1.1+. Accents are adjusted only as far as they need to stay readable.

Light and dark mode come from the desktop too, and the theme picker shows “KDE Plasma (default)”, “COSMIC (default)” or “Omarchy (default)” where that theme is in use. macOS and Windows look the same as before.

Before you upgrade

  • Upgrading needs no action, and no settings or stored data changed.
  • If you never picked a theme, Irori will look different on these desktops. A theme you did pick stays as it is. To get the original orange back, choose Irori Night or Irori Day in Settings → Appearance → Theme.
  • On COSMIC, a default install now keeps Irori opaque, because Automatic translucency follows COSMIC's Frosted glass setting.
  • In the Flatpak on KDE Plasma, a colour scheme that exists only in system folders can't be read, so Irori keeps its own theme.
  • Hyprland and Sway have no settings portal, so outside Omarchy they keep Irori's orange.

Install commands for every system are at irori.app.

Irori 0.2 adds Steam login, one page for every update, and encrypted saved logins.

Highlights

  • Steam: log in with a QR code, or a password and Steam Guard, to add every game you own and your Steam Family's games. Play hands games to Steam and follows them until they end, so playtime counts.
  • Updates page: one place for games, Wine and Proton builds, DXVK, VKD3D-Proton, umu, the anticheat runtimes, emulators and RetroArch cores. Skip a version, stop updating a game, or go back to the Wine build an update replaced. Automatic updates can keep to set hours and stay off metered connections.
  • Security: saved logins are encrypted with a key in your system keyring. A full audit also fixed problems in Lutris scripts, logs, links, downloads and GOG Galaxy support.
  • Launch controls: gamescope has its own switch, with upscaling optional. You can pick DXVK and VKD3D-Proton versions for Wine builds, and turn on descriptor heap and Proton's DLSS, FSR and XeSS upgrades without looking up variables.
  • Added games: they now keep their own description, developer, release date and genres.
  • Fixes: "Galaxy Common Redistributables" downloads from GOG work again, and Linux windows get real compositor blur where the compositor offers it, including KDE Plasma 6.7.

Before you upgrade

  • Upgrading needs no action, but going back to an older Irori means logging in again, because it can't read encrypted logins.
  • irori://launch links now ask before starting a game. --launch and Irori's own shortcuts don't.
  • Lutris scripts are stricter, so some that ran before are now refused.
  • A locked keyring can delay the first window by up to 30 seconds.
  • Builds you sign ad hoc on macOS ask for Keychain access after each update. Official notarized builds aren't affected.

Install commands for every system are at irori.app.

The first release of Irori, a native game launcher for Linux, macOS and Windows.

Irori brings your Epic Games, GOG, Amazon Games, ZOOM Platform and itch.io libraries, your installed Steam games, emulated games and the games you add yourself into one library. It installs, updates and repairs store games, runs Windows games through Wine, Proton or umu on Linux and through Wine, CrossOver or Game Porting Toolkit on macOS, and manages those builds for you. Emulators install from their own projects, Big Picture runs the whole launcher with a controller, and your Heroic and Lutris libraries come along in one step.

It is written in Rust with GPUI: one process, drawn on your graphics card, no Electron.

Install

The commands for every system are at https://irori.app/#download: apt, dnf and pacman repositories, a Flatpak bundle, Homebrew, Scoop, and the files below.

Known limits in 0.1.0

  • Windows builds aren't signed yet, so SmartScreen warns the first time you run the installer: choose More info, then Run anyway.
  • Irori isn't on Flathub or winget yet. Install the .flatpak bundle below with flatpak install --user ./Irori-0.1.0-linux.flatpak, or the Windows installer.
  • Linux packages are for x86-64.
