DigiHabit 0.1 (pre-release)

A beta (pre-release). It runs on a Digitone mk1, its author's, where it loads and works as expected, and was checked in digikit's emulator on OS 1.43 and 1.44.

A Habit-style echo collector for the Digitone mk1's audio inputs: a 3-minute memory that always records what you play (COLLECT overdubs it, ALWAYS keeps it recording while bypassed), an echo with REPEATS and SIZE (in time with the Digitone's tempo), SCAN (auto: it wanders off into the past and plays old fragments into the echoes; manual: you pick the moment), SPREAD (a second echo further back, placed apart in stereo), the Habit's six modifiers (stepped and smooth speed, stability, trimmer, filter, dropper) after the echo, in its feedback or round the memory (IN, OUT, FEED), LOOP, CLEAR, RAMP and bounce, eight presets and the Habit's MIDI CCs. DIGIHABIT in core-dn1's Mod Menu (hold a track key) opens its page; while it is open it owns the audio engine (the synths are muted) and processes the inputs, and NO gives both back. Needs core-dn1 3.2.

It is not affiliated with the maker of the Chase Bliss Habit and uses none of its code. The README has the pages, the keys, the MIDI chart and how it works.

Install

DigiHabit needs core-dn1 3.2 or newer and elekloader from its main branch (or elekloader's web page): its buffers are in the Digitone profile's bulk area, which the 0.4.0 app does not know.

With several effects mods in one build (the other pedals, DigiCosm, DigiChroma), use core-dn1 4.0 in 3.2's place: it has the RAM for them. Flash the .syx with Elektron Transfer; the stock OS file always restores the unit.

Files

The two DigiHabit files are built from this repository's main at 66b26a6: byte for byte the files tested on the unit, and the same as mods/digihabit-dn1 in irpina/elekloader#96. The core files are the ones in elekloader's core-dn1-v3.2 pre-release.
