The source code is now public under the MIT License, and everything ships from this repository: the installer, the portable ZIP, the signed update feed and the browser extension.

Updating from 1.6.0 or earlier: those versions look for updates in the old location and cannot update themselves. Exit SSDownload from the tray, then run the Setup below once over your current version. Your queue and settings are kept, and later versions update themselves again. If you loaded the extension unpacked, reload it on chrome://extensions (or restart the browser) afterwards.

Fixes

  • Inline progress bars draw at the right length and colour.
  • The state column shows the connection count briefly ("Downloading — 8 connections").
  • The English interface shows MB/s, the full Search label and correct job and error plurals.
  • The media picker no longer shifts its labels, and New download no longer shows a needless scroll bar.

The builds are not code-signed yet; compare the SHA-256 below before running a file.
