Routehound v0.3.0
What's new
- Environments, redone: each collection gets an Environments tab with a matrix (Base, Local, Staging, Production…). Values are inherited from Base unless you override them, and each row has a secret lock. Pick the active environment in the client with
Ctrl+E; a Missing chip lists the variables with no value and takes you to fill them. - Production guard: give an environment the Danger tone and Routehound asks before sending a POST, PUT, PATCH or DELETE to it.
- New body types: form (urlencoded), multipart with file fields, a binary file, and raw Text or XML besides JSON. OpenAPI export keeps the media type.
Downloads
- Windows:
Routehound_0.3.0_x64-setup.exe - Linux:
.deb,.rpmor.AppImage - macOS: not in this release.
From 0.2.2 on, updates arrive in the app. Builds are not code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen will ask for confirmation.
Routehound v0.2.3
- Indexing: routes keep their full mount prefix (
/employees/documents, not/documents) when a router is mounted with middleware calls, arrays or an inlinerequire(...), and in projects without a standard entry file. - Re-index now repairs routes imported without their prefix: same endpoint, with its name, saved request, docs and variants kept, instead of a duplicate plus an orphan.
- Request timeout per collection (Collections › Settings › Requests, 1–300 s, default 30).
- Home: the "recent" time column no longer wraps.
Routehound v0.2.2
What's new
- In-app updates: Routehound now checks for new versions at start and offers Update · Later. Update downloads, installs and restarts; nothing is installed until you click. You can also check by hand in About › Updates.
- This version must be installed by hand (0.2.0 and 0.2.1 could not update themselves). From 0.2.2 on, updates arrive in the app.
- Privacy notice, terms and support in About: no accounts, no telemetry, everything stays on your machine. Read them in full in any of the six languages.
- Report a problem / Ask a question from About opens a GitHub issue with your version and system already filled in. Security problems go through the repository's private "Report a vulnerability".

Routehound v0.2.1
What's new
A performance patch.
- Indexing a large repository no longer freezes the window. Scans and workspace reads now run in the background, so you can keep working while a project is indexed.
- The window comes to the front right away, even while a project folder is being re-indexed after you save in your editor.
- Smoother typing in the client with many tabs or a long send history.
- Large workspaces open faster: a closed collection loads its endpoints the first time you open it.
- Saving code that does not change any route no longer re-renders or rewrites the collection.

Routehound v0.2.0
What's new
- Environments per collection: create Local, Staging, Prod… in Collections › Settings › Variables and switch between them from the client (right of the group bar). An environment overrides the collection's base variables, which override the global ones.
- Secret variables stay on your computer: every variable has a Secret checkbox (checked by default for names like
token,password,api_key). Secret values live in the system keychain; the workspace folder only keeps their names, so teammates know what to fill in. - Port per endpoint: change the host port from any endpoint (
:portin the URL bar); it is saved with the endpoint, and the ports used in the collection are offered in every endpoint. - Resizable response when docked below (also when the window is narrow and the response stacks under the request).
- Layout fixes on narrow windows and long translations.

Routehound v0.1.0
Routehound v0.1.0 — first public release
Your API collection writes itself — from your code, and it never leaves your machine.
Routehound is a desktop API client (like Bruno or Postman) that indexes the endpoints of your
projects automatically. Point it at an API project and it builds the collection for you; when the
code changes, it re-indexes and merges, keeping your names, saved requests and docs.
Highlights
- Indexing from code: Express, Fastify, NestJS, Next.js, Koa and Hono, with a live folder
watcher. No OpenAPI spec and no deployed traffic needed. - Local AI fallback (LM Studio): when the indexer finds nothing (FastAPI, Laravel, Spring, Go…),
your local model proposes the routes for review. Code only goes to your local model. - Request editor: params, headers, body variants,
{{variables}}, native send (no CORS),
history, cURL import and a command palette (Ctrl K). - Workspace in a folder: one JSON file per endpoint, ready for git.
- Secrets in the OS keychain: tokens and API keys never land in files.
- Import / export: OpenAPI/Swagger (JSON or YAML), Postman v2.x and Bruno in; OpenAPI 3 out.
- Languages: EN, ES, PT-BR, FR, DE, ZH.
