GrabNConvert 1.0.10
New
- Download from cloud drives: paste a share link from Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, MediaFire or pCloud and the app gets the file itself, any kind (a zip, a PDF, a video), under its own name and at its original quality. Google Docs, Sheets and Slides come as Word, Excel and PowerPoint files, a Dropbox folder as a zip. A plain link to a file ("…/report.pdf") works the same way. A broken download continues where it stopped. Dropbox Transfer, WeTransfer and MEGA links open in a download window inside the app: press Download there and the files land in your folder, in the queue like any other download.
Fixed
- Mac: Separate voice and music, Remove background and saving PDF pages as pictures failed with "could not be loaded". macOS refused the engines the app downloads; it now lets them load. The Voice recorder may also ask for the microphone properly now.
- A YouTube video that only plays in some countries said "removed or the link is wrong", because YouTube now just says "Video unavailable". The app now checks, says the video isn't available in your country and which countries it plays in, and a popup asks you to turn on a VPN app and try again.
- Settings → Network (Proxy and Country) is gone. The country choice never worked for YouTube; a VPN app on the computer does the job.
- The top bar's Media, Pictures and Files menus have their own icons and a small arrow, so they read as menus.
- Phone page: a bigger QR code, shorter text.
- Send to phone on Android is much faster and keeps going when the phone's screen locks: files now go through the phone's own download, which can also continue after a break instead of starting over. The phone's page still shows how far each file got.
- On an iPhone, "Try again" after a break continues where the file stopped.
- When the phone stops half-way, the Phone page says "Paused · waiting for the phone" instead of showing a bar that never moves, and a retry shows its own progress from the start. A transfer the phone abandoned for ten minutes is cleared, and a file from the phone that broke off no longer stays in the list.
- The Mac keeps the transfer at full speed while the app is in the background.

New
- Send to phone: drop any file on Home or the notch (or pick a finished job in the Queue, History or the floating queue) and choose "Send to phone". One QR code pairs the phone once; after that, files you send appear on the phone by themselves, each with a big Save button (on an iPhone, pictures and videos go straight into Photos; on Android they download), with the app's progress bar on both sides, and the dialog or the notch shows "iPhone · connected" instead of another code. The Phone page is one pairing (the code folds into a connection chip once the phone is on the page, with Show QR and Disconnect), a drop zone, and one Transfers list both ways; received files go to the folder in ⚙. The phone's page has the mascot, "Connected to ", Send to this computer and From your computer, and it says what to check when the phone does not show up after a minute.
- ZIP files: drop a .zip on Home or the notch and pick "Open the ZIP" to use the pictures, videos, songs or PDFs inside with the app's tools, or convert the whole thing with Folder convert. A ZIP dropped on Converter, Compressor, Video tools, Separate, Subtitles or Audio tools adds the files inside that the page takes.
- Folder convert does more than convert: for each kind, choose what to do. Pictures: convert, remove the background, make stickers, or make one PDF per folder. Videos: convert or compress, write subtitles (a file beside, or on the picture, in another language if you like), or separate voice and music. Songs: convert, separate, or write a transcript. An action that needs a download shows it in its own card; the other kinds can start right away.
- Folder convert takes a ZIP too: its files are converted into a "(converted)" folder next to the ZIP.
- Downloads can go through a proxy (Settings → Network), and a video blocked in your country now says how to get it.
- Report a problem (Settings → About, the Help menu, or "Report" on a failed job): the app makes a ZIP on your Desktop with what we need to fix it, and you choose to email it. Nothing is sent by itself.
- The Go menu lists every tool, grouped like the top bar (Media, Pictures, Files).
- One progress bar everywhere: engine downloads, scans, ZIPs and transfers look like a download.

New
- Downloader: pasting several links now shows a Links list under the link box, with a quality for each link (or "Set all to…"), a remove, the folder and one "Download all" button. "Import links…" (or dropping a .txt, .csv or .md on the page) reads the links out of a file into the same list.
- Rename and organise: give many files tidy names at once with a pattern (the old name, a number, the date, the folder), find and replace, a letter case and numbering, and sort them into folders by kind, month or extension. A live preview shows every new name; nothing is ever overwritten, and the last run can be undone.
- Images: a new SVG format traces a picture into shapes, so a logo, icon or drawing stays sharp at any size. Pick the detail (fine, balanced, simple) and full colour or black and white; with "Remove background" the see-through parts stay empty.
- Images: set an exact size in pixels (width × height, either one alone) with keep-the-proportions fit or fill, or stretch; keep small pictures from being enlarged; and cap the file size (say, under 200 KB): the quality steps down, then the picture shrinks, until it fits. The notch form has the same choices.
- Video tools: a new page. Change a video's shape for Reels, TikTok, Shorts or YouTube, turn or mirror it, speed it up or slow it down (voices keep their pitch), take the sound out, or put your logo on it; join clips into one video in the order you choose; or save a picture every few seconds.
- PDF tools: a new page. Merge PDFs, split one into parts, keep the pages you want in any order, turn sideways pages, make a PDF smaller, put a picture of your signature on it, make one PDF from photos or scans, or save its pages as pictures (the first use downloads a small engine). Dropping PDFs on Home or the notch offers these tools.
- Right-click menu: on a Mac, right-click a file in Finder → Services → Compress, Convert, Remove background, Make a PDF, Subtitles, Rename or Keep on the shelf with GrabNConvert; on Windows a GrabNConvert menu in Explorer's right-click menu (under "Show more options" on Windows 11), which Settings can turn off. The app opens straight on the right page with the files.
- Subtitles in another language: under "Subtitles in", pick Bangla, Hindi, English or 17 other languages and the subtitles are translated on this computer right after the speech is written down, before they are saved, put inside the video or drawn on the picture. "Translate a subtitle file" on the same page does the same for an SRT, VTT or TXT you already have. The social pack uses it too. The first use downloads the translation model (Meta's M2M100); short, plain sentences come out best.
- Video tools → Social pack: one video becomes the copies social media wants in one go (Reels/TikTok/Shorts 9:16, YouTube 16:9, square, and a small WhatsApp copy), with subtitles written down and burnt into every copy if you turn that on. "Change videos" also gets a Size option (up to 4K, 1080p, 720p or 480p).
- Phone transfer: a new page shows a QR code; scan it with a phone on the same Wi-Fi and the phone's browser can send photos, videos and files to the computer (into your folder and onto the shelf) and save the shelf's files on the phone. No app on the phone, nothing goes to the internet, and the address has a random key.
- Screenshot: a new page (Home → Screenshot, or ⇧⌘6 / Ctrl+Shift+6 in any app). Take an area, a window or the whole screen, then draw on it: arrows, boxes, highlights, text, a blur over private bits, and a crop, with undo. Copy it, save it as PNG, keep it on the shelf, open it in Images, or copy its text. On a Mac the first capture may ask for Screen Recording permission, like the recorder.
- Sticker maker: a new page (Home → Pictures → Sticker maker). A picture becomes a WhatsApp sticker (512 × 512 WebP under 100 KB, with a tray icon for the pack if you want one) or a Telegram sticker (512 px WebP): the subject cut out, a white outline round it, fitted with a margin. A video or GIF becomes an animated sticker from its first 3 seconds (WhatsApp WebP under 500 KB, Telegram WebM under 256 KB). Pick many files at once for a pack.
- Video tools → Change videos: three fixes under the other changes. Steady takes the shake out of hand-held video, Brighten lifts a dark video without washing it out, and Less grain smooths low-light noise. They combine with the shape, turn, speed and logo, and show in the notch form too.
- Folder convert: a new page (Home → Files → Folder convert, or drop a folder on Home or the notch). Pick a folder and the scan looks through every folder inside it and counts the pictures, videos and songs by kind, format and folder; untick what should stay as it is. Then one setting per kind (format, size, quality; a max size in MB for videos; even volume for songs) and where the copies go: beside the originals in a new folder named after the setting (for example "WebP 1080"), or under one folder of your choice, keeping the folder tree or not. Files converted before are skipped, so a second run only does the new ones. Everything goes into the queue as one batch.
- Converter: each file in the batch can have its own format, resolution and quality. The ⚙ on a file's row opens them; what the file pins shows beside it (for example "MP3" or "720p · Small"), and "Use the page's settings" lets it follow the page again. The settings at the top stay the default for every other file.
- Queue: the files of a batch show as one row with their count and one progress bar, with pause, resume, cancel and retry for all of them; the files unfold below it.
- Free space: a new page (Home → Files → Free space). Scan a folder and see the files that are there twice (same bytes, whatever the name) and the fifty biggest; tick what can go and move it to the Trash, never deleted outright. The oldest copy of each set is kept by default; hidden files, app bundles and photo libraries are left alone.
- Voice recorder: a new page (Home → Pictures & screen → Voice recorder). One press records the microphone to an M4A in your folder with a timer; each recording can be played back, written down by Whisper into a text file next to it (the Subtitles model, in any of its languages), opened in Audio tools, or shown in its folder.
- Thumbnail maker: a new page (Home → Thumbnail maker). Slide to the moment of the video you want, type a headline and a second line, pick a look (a dark shade, a band, or outlined words), where they go, a colour and the size, then save a 1280 × 720 JPG for YouTube or copy it.
- The top bar now holds every tool: Home, Downloader, then three menus like Home's groups (Media, Pictures, Files) with each page inside, then Queue and History. A menu shows the page you are on as its name.
- Dropping files offers more: a video also gets Social pack, Thumbnail and an animated sticker; a picture also gets Make a sticker and Mark it up; several files get Rename and organise; a folder gets Free space and Rename and organise. The same cards in the notch.
- The website's motion comes to the app: a page's headline rises in word by word, the mascot drops in and lands, the status display flickers on, the mascot is asleep when the app opens and wakes with a hop, and a click on any mascot makes it take a bite.
- Smart clipboard: a new page that remembers what you copy (texts, links, pictures, files), only on this computer and only once you turn it on; password managers' copies are never kept. Search, pin, copy anything back. Each text gets tools that fit it: download a link or copy it without tracking, see a sum's result, a colour in HEX/RGB/HSL, change case, clean up spaces, sort lines, Base64, tidy JSON, a QR code for your phone. Pictures can be saved, converted, cut out or made into a PDF.
- Clipboard popup: press ⌥⌘V (Ctrl+Alt+V on Windows) in any app and your clipboard history opens at the top of the screen. Type to search, use the arrows and Enter, or ⌘1–9; it goes back to the app you were in and pastes the item there (on a Mac this needs the Accessibility permission once; without it the item is only copied, and the popup says how to allow it). Turn off "Paste right away" on the Clipboard page to only copy. The shortcut can be changed on the Clipboard page.
- With clipboard history on, every copy peeks out of the notch for a moment with what was copied (a link still opens the download form). Clipboard is in the top bar too; the bar shows names from 1320 px wide and icons below that.
- Copy text from a picture: pictures in the clipboard history and on the shelf can have their text read out and copied, using the computer's own text recognition.
- The shelf (on the Clipboard page): drop files there, or choose "Keep on the shelf" when you drop them on Home or the notch, then drag them into any app, AirDrop or share them, copy them for pasting, make a ZIP, or open them with a tool. The files stay where they are.
- Copy a video link anywhere on a Mac and the mascot comes out of the notch with the download options, as if you had dropped the link there. Links with nothing to download go back quietly, and the form tucks itself away if you leave it. "Notice copied links" in Settings turns it off.
- Copy a video link anywhere on Windows and the mascot drops in at the top of the screen with the download options, without taking you out of the app you are in. Links with nothing to download never bring it out, it tucks itself away after a few seconds unless you point at it, and password managers' copies are left alone. "Notice copied links" in Settings turns it off.
- Copy text from a picture works on Windows too (the clipboard history, the shelf and Screenshot), with Windows' own text recognition in the languages installed in Windows.
- The welcome tour shows every tool on Home, and dropping a picture offers "Make a PDF" too.
- Calmer tool pages: Converter, Compressor, Images, Video tools, PDF tools, Subtitles and Audio tools show your files and one button; the options sit behind an Options lin...

- Pictures: a custom size with "Fill the box" or "Stretch" now always comes out at exactly that size. A picture smaller than the box was left at its own size (a 1208 × 1050 photo stayed 1208 × 1050 instead of 1600 × 1051); "Don't enlarge small pictures" now applies only to "Fit inside" and to one side or a preset, and is hidden for the other two.

GrabNConvert 1.0.5
New
- Separator: split a song or a video's sound into voice and background (karaoke), four stems (vocals, drums, bass, other) or six (adds guitar and piano). It runs on your computer; the first use downloads the AI model. Apple Silicon Macs and Windows.
- Subtitles: a new page that listens to a video or a sound file and writes what is said, in Bangla, English and ninety other languages, on your computer. Get a subtitle file beside the video, a copy with a subtitle track, a copy with the words on the picture, or a plain transcript; translate to English with one switch. The first use downloads the model.
- Audio tools: a new page that cleans a recording. Clean the noise, cut the silences, even out the loudness to a standard level, and write tags and cover art, to MP3, M4A, WAV or FLAC. A video in gives a sound file out.
- Images: a new page that converts and resizes pictures to JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF, from almost anything, iPhone HEIC included. Location and camera details are never copied. "Remove background" cuts the subject out and makes the background see-through (PNG or WebP; Apple Silicon Macs and Windows).
- Screen recorder (Mac): press ⇧⌘2, use the menu bar or the Recorder page. The video zooms in where you click and follows the pointer smoothly, and is saved up to 4K on a soft background.
- Home is new: drop any file, or press Choose files, and the app shows every tool for it. All tools sit on Home in two groups; the queue and History sit side by side on wide windows.
- Dropping a file (in the app or on the notch) offers everything that fits: a video gets Convert, Compress, Subtitles, Separate and Audio tools; a sound file gets Convert, Separate, Transcript and Audio tools; a picture gets Convert or resize and Remove background.
- Notch drop (Mac): drag a file, a link or a picture from a web page to the top of the screen. The mascot comes out of the notch, eats it and asks what to make, with the same choices as the app. Turn it off in Settings.
- Every page has a ⚙ Settings button with that page's defaults (quality, formats, folders and more).
- The queue button floats in the corner with a ring that shows the overall progress, and a small panel to pause or cancel each job.
- Downloader: once a link is checked, Video and Audio sit side by side as tabs, each with its own options.
- Settings → "Open at login": GrabNConvert starts with your Mac in the menu bar, so the notch is always ready. Closing the window on a Mac keeps it running and your jobs carry on.
- New solid icons everywhere, and on wide windows the menu gets a line of its own, with names.
Fixed
- Compressor: the "Share to" buttons no longer run over the hint below them when they wrap onto two lines.

- Pause a download or conversion in place and resume it later from the same point: a Pause button on every running job, and the queue's Pause now freezes running jobs too (Resume lets them all go on).
- Settings → "Send error reports" (off by default): when a job fails, a short report with the version, platform, stage and the scrubbed error text helps us fix it. Never file names or full links.
- Light theme: the status display is a dark panel with bright dots, readable at a glance; switches and inputs stand out more on Cream.
- Press ⌘ (Ctrl)/ anywhere for the list of keyboard shortcuts.
- Stages, interruption notices and quality names in the queue now follow the app language.
- The mascot on Home is the help button: hover it for "Need help?", click it for the tour, any time.
- A one-minute tour on the first launch: the mascot walks you through Home, pasting a link, converting, compressing, the queue and the browser button, with a spotlight on each. Replay it any time from Settings.
