First stable release of LeagueApps Widgets: show LeagueApps data on your WordPress site with blocks, shortcodes or Bold Builder elements.

Install

Download leagueapps-widgets-1.0.0.zip below. Then go to Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin, choose the ZIP and click Activate. Enter your LeagueApps site ID and public API key under Settings → LeagueApps. Requires WordPress 6.1+ and PHP 7.4+.

Widgets

• Standings: standings for current programs in a sport, or for one program. They're worked out from completed games, ranked by win percentage or points (3 for a win, 1 for a tie).
• Schedule: a program's games, practices and events, grouped by day. You can show upcoming or past items, filter to one team, and choose which event types to include. Canceled and postponed games are marked.
• Announcements: a site's latest announcements as excerpts, full text or titles only, with dates, images and expired announcements hidden.

Features

• Blocks, shortcodes and Bold Builder elements for every widget, all from one set of settings.
• More than one LeagueApps site, for organizations with a separate site per sport. Each widget picks its site.
• Dropdowns in the block editor for the program and sport, based on the selected site.
• Map links on locations. They open Apple Maps on Apple devices, the default maps app on Android, and Google Maps everywhere else.
• Caching of LeagueApps responses (15 minutes by default). Failed requests are retried after a minute, so an outage doesn't slow your pages.
• Layouts that adapt to phones and narrow sidebars.
• Developer hooks for adding widgets and adjusting output. See the README.

Field names follow the LeagueApps API documentation. The announcements endpoint has no documented sample response, so its field names are best guesses with fallbacks.
