Install the J&E Studio client with one command:

brew install jestatsio/tap/je

Run je setup to detect installed Codex and Claude Code CLIs and confirm native plugin installation. The plugins provide connection, status, and memory guidance. Install the native clients separately.

The standalone client includes its runtime and optional memory and Ollama dependencies. Python and a source checkout are not required. Your existing profiles remain compatible.

This initial release targets Apple Silicon Macs and was tested on macOS 27.2. Installing the public client does not grant service access: get your endpoint, permitted model, and personal key from your Studio operator.

The archive includes third-party notices. SHA256SUMS verifies the download, and build-manifest.json records the exact source commit and build inputs. The binary uses ad-hoc signing; this release is not Developer ID signed or notarized.

Verification

Built from clean source commit 5be56457dd22fc8715577b40e9ad59c7e59366eb.

  • JE_RUN_MACOS_SANDBOX_PROOF=1 PYTHONPATH=src python -m unittest discover -s tests -q: 979 tests, successful with 7 optional checks skipped. The three service checks passed separately after connecting their pinned test environments; all four binary checks passed in the artifact suite below.
  • JE_FROZEN_BINARY=/path/to/je PYTHONPATH=src:tests python -m unittest test_frozen_client test_memory_connection_check -q: 27 passed, no skips.
  • Documentation: 23 browser checks passed, including mobile layouts, copy buttons, navigation, keyboard focus, and client tabs. node --check packaging/public/docs/assets/site.js passed.
  • The downloaded public archive matches the published SHA-256 checksum. GitHub Pages serves the reviewed HTML unchanged.

Tests used pinned development environments and synthetic local service fixtures. They did not request model inference or install plugins into a user's native client configuration.

  • brew install jestatsio/tap/je and brew test jestatsio/tap/je: passed on macOS 27.2 arm64.
  • je --version: je 0.2.0. je setup --dry-run: detected Codex 0.166.0 and Claude Code 2.1.317 without changing plugin registrations.
