설치와 업데이트

• macOS 14 이상, Apple Silicon arm64용 알파 릴리스입니다.
• alpha.4 사용자는 Tessera 메뉴 또는 설정에서 **업데이트 확인…**을 선택하세요.

범위와 복구

로컬 ad hoc 서명과 기존 Sparkle 업데이트 서명을 사용합니다. Developer ID 서명·Apple 공증,
Intel·Universal 배포는 포함하지 않습니다. 앱의 최소 크기나 전체화면 상태에 따라 창 배치가 제한될 수 있습니다.
물리적 상하 배치·3대 연결·연결 해제는 자동 검사 범위이며 모든 하드웨어 조합을 실측한 것은 아닙니다.
최종 배포본에서 선택기의 화면 이동·숫자·최대화와 Brave 크기 보정의 추가 실측은 후속 검증으로 남아 있습니다.

복구가 필요하면 Tessera를 종료하고 alpha.4의

Directional window placement now continues across displays.

• Move between displays: crossing an edge follows the display arrangement in macOS.
  Placement uses the destination display's work area and scale.
• Wrap across the entire horizontal arrangement: left from the leftmost display enters the last column
  of the rightmost display; right from the rightmost enters the first column of the leftmost.
• The picker follows: moving across displays in “Arrange Window…” moves the picker and updates its
  display name and grid. Numbers, clicks, and Maximize apply to the selected destination.
• Correct stale size limits after moving: when an app still applies its previous display's size limit,
  Tessera retries the size once after moving. An app's own minimum size still produces constrained feedback.
• Pending placements are cancelled if the display arrangement or work area changes.
  Single-display horizontal wrapping and existing grid, spacing, language, theme, and shortcut settings are preserved.

Install or update

• Alpha release for Apple Silicon arm64, requiring macOS 14 or later.
• On alpha.4, choose Check for Updates… in Tessera's menu or Settings.
• New users and users of alpha.3 or earlier should download Tessera-0.1.0-alpha.5-arm64.dmg
  below and copy the app into Applications. SHA256SUMS contains the file checksum.
• macOS may require renewing Accessibility permission after updating.

Scope and recovery

This release uses local ad hoc signing and the existing Sparkle update signing identity. It does not include
Developer ID signing, Apple notarization, or Intel/Universal distribution. App size limits and full-screen states
may restrict placement. Physical vertical arrangements, three-display setups, and unplugging are covered by
automated checks; not every hardware combination has been tested on devices.
Additional native validation of picker display transitions, number/Maximize selection, and Brave size correction in the final release remains pending.

To restore, quit Tessera and reinstall from the alpha.4
DMG or a saved app. Keep your preferences and renew Accessibility permission if needed.
The updater does not automatically downgrade.

Validation: Swift 170 tests with rendering; 13 signature-verifier regression cases; real local older-build fixture update through download, verification, app replacement and relaunch. Invalid feed and tampered archive rejection were exercised. Existing multi-display, mixed-scale and other-Mac checks remain pending. This is an alpha prerelease, not a claim of completed v0.1 native validation.

A small UI update that gives Maximize the same shortcut-editing layout as the four directions.

• Removed the Maximize-only × clear button and aligned all five shortcut fields.
• Click a field, press a new key combination, then choose Apply Shortcuts.
• Existing grids, gap, language, theme, shortcuts, and maximize behavior are preserved. Previously unassigned Maximize bindings remain supported.
• README and website download links are updated to alpha.3.

Quit Tessera and keep a copy of your old app before dragging Tessera.app to Applications. Eject the image and launch from Applications. Recheck Accessibility permission for the installed app if window movement stops after updating.

This build is ad hoc signed, without Developer ID signing or Apple notarization. macOS may block an internet-downloaded app. See the installation guide. Alpha.1 and alpha.2 assets remain available.

Verification

• Source: 657870a289c1a6e46fa77bcc4fef4eff0ceb8520.

• 150 Swift tests, 49 web tests, and JavaScript syntax checks passed.

• Generated 84 offscreen renders; inspected Korean/English light/dark settings alignment.

• Verified bundle signature, DMG integrity, and its app/version/Applications link/bilingual guide through a read-only mount.

• DMG SHA-256: 57986ae493eb03c52c7e07056de97d8064871e6bf61d05c89cd695578d00f09c (also in SHA256SUMS).

• The existing installed app was not replaced during this release. Other-Mac installation, macOS 14 runtime, multi-display, and mixed-scale native checks remain incomplete.

• Publication verified: downloaded the public DMG and SHA256SUMS without authentication and confirmed the checksum and byte-for-byte match with the verified local artifacts. PR #7 is merged; Pages deployment passed. Both Korean and English public pages show alpha.3 and the new download/install links.

Alpha.2 adds maximization and screen halves, with the matching website demo.

Use Control+Option+Return to fill the usable display. Up/down moves between the top half, maximized, and bottom half. Left/right enters your selected grids. Settings appears in Mission Control, the Dock, and Command-Tab while its window exists; closing it returns Tessera to menu-bar-only mode. Accepted app-size adjustments now receive a brief success-style notice.

Download Tessera-0.1.0-arm64.dmg for Apple Silicon, targeting macOS 14 or later. Quit the previous app, preserve a backup if needed, and drag Tessera into Applications. Check Accessibility permission after updating; the ad hoc signature may require re-registering the existing grant. Existing grid/gap/direction preferences are retained, with an added optional maximize binding.

English installation guide

App version 0.1.0, build 2; release v0.1.0-alpha.2. The previous alpha.1 remains available. SHA256SUMS identifies the DMG. This app is ad hoc signed and not notarized, so Gatekeeper may block a downloaded copy.

Swift/app-bundle checks and 49 web tests passed, along with syntax, local browser, native user-confirmed behavior, and read-only DMG inspection. Other-Mac downloads, actual macOS 14 runtime, and the complete multi-display/mixed-scale matrix remain unverified. This is still an alpha release.

First public alpha of Tessera, a macOS menu bar window manager with directional navigation across 2×2, 3×2 and 4×2 grids.

Download Tessera-0.1.0-arm64.dmg for Apple Silicon. Built for macOS 14 or later; no Intel/universal binary is included. Drag Tessera to Applications, eject the disk and launch the installed app. Grant Accessibility access, then use Control+Option+arrow keys. There is no Dock icon.

The app is ad hoc signed and not notarized by Apple. Gatekeeper may block a downloaded copy. Testing covered 174 Swift tests, bundle/image verification and installation on the development Mac. Other-Mac downloads, macOS 14 runtime and the complete multi-display matrix remain unverified. The in-app version is 0.1.0; this release is alpha.1.
