v0.8.0 — Portable hosts and MCP client setup

Choose a tag to compare

@jjangga0214 jjangga0214 released this 05 Nov 09:41

Connect the advertised Streamable HTTP endpoint from any compatible MCP client. Codex and OpenCode setup examples remain available. Agents that read SKILL.md can install either skill in their own parent directory with skill install --dir PATH.

The local CLI and foreground server now look for the native Upscayl Desktop engine in macOS, Windows and Linux installation layouts. Set UPSCAYL_APP for a custom or extracted package. The web server reads desktop assets without requiring macOS image tools. The managed login service still uses macOS launchd.

Local GPU processing and foreground hosting were tested on macOS. Windows and Linux GPU hosting has not been tested.

On phones, Settings now opens from the top-right corner of the canvas. The panel drops from the top and can be closed by swiping its bottom handle upward. Before/after tools sit on the opposite side of the canvas, and the bottom action stays available for upscaling, progress and saving.

v0.7.3 — Mobile settings sheet

@jjangga0214 jjangga0214 released this 05 Nov 09:18

On phones, Settings opens from the bottom bar and the image canvas uses the full width. Drag the sheet header down, tap outside, or use Close to return to the same point in the preview.

Adjust the model or scale and start an upscale directly from the sheet. Progress and saving stay on the canvas. Wider screens keep the settings sidebar on the left.

v0.7.2 — Touch zoom and comparison

Pinch with two fingers to zoom around the spot you are inspecting. Drag the zoomed image to pan both layers together, or grab the divider to compare the original and upscaled detail. Lens mode also supports touch. Tap Fit to return to the whole image.

Fullscreen opens on the finished image and now includes Slider and Lens controls. The preview keeps keyboard slider adjustment and supports panning with a mouse, wheel or arrow keys.

v0.7.1 · One-tap mobile upscale

@jjangga0214 jjangga0214 released this 05 Nov 08:53

On phones, choosing an image or folder now brings the Upscale button directly to the bottom of the canvas. Start with the current settings in one tap. The same area shows progress, cancel and retry controls, then Save result or Save ZIP.

The action stays in reach in portrait and landscape. Opening settings still lets you run from the panel. If a custom setting is invalid, the app opens that field so you can correct it.

v0.7.0 · Left sidebar and fullscreen results

@jjangga0214 jjangga0214 released this 05 Nov 08:37

The browser app and PWA now keep the Upscayl controls at the left edge and accept images anywhere on the remaining canvas. Narrow screens have a left settings rail that opens the full panel.

After processing, use the small fullscreen button on the preview to inspect the selected upscaled image at its original aspect ratio. Close the viewer to return to the same comparison. A viewport-filling viewer also works when a browser cannot enter native fullscreen.

v0.6.0 · Configurable LAN addresses and certificate discovery

@jjangga0214 jjangga0214 released this 05 Nov 08:26

Self-hosters can configure the bind IP, advertised LAN DNS name, and HTTP/HTTPS ports with server start or server run. Managed settings persist across restarts and macOS login. IP-only installations retain their existing addresses.

Use your own PEM chain and key, and optionally share the public root CA. Setup, agent discovery and MCP installation commands now use the configured host and ports. When a CA is shared, clients see its download URL and SHA-256 fingerprint in both languages. The host and client skills cover DNS, certificate selection and trust.

v0.5.0 · English and Korean language detection

@jjangga0214 jjangga0214 released this 05 Nov 08:13

English is now the default for the web app, PWA, setup page and agent discovery. Korean is selected when the client prefers it among supported languages. Both PWA language variants work offline.

Model descriptions follow the request or terminal locale. The client and host skills use English by default and respond in Korean to Korean-speaking users. Both skills can be upgraded with the existing install command.

v0.4.0 · Separate client and Mac host skills

@jjangga0214 jjangga0214 released this 05 Nov 07:55
  • The default Upscayl skill now connects a client to a home LAN MCP server. It includes an optional remote CLI workflow for terminals and batch scripts.
  • The new upscayl-host skill covers direct engine use on the Mac, launchd, login startup, HTTPS, logs and temporary storage. Install it explicitly with upscayl-mcp skill install --role host.
  • The server manifest exposes both ZIPs with SHA-256 digests. The existing client ZIP URL and skill fields continue to work. Either archive includes the shared model and output behavior reference.
  • The default CLI installer upgrades the earlier official combined client files and detects customized files before writing.

v0.3.1 · Upscale button and live progress

@jjangga0214 jjangga0214 released this 05 Nov 07:34
  • The Upscayl button sends two soft ripples when a file or folder is ready. Reduced-motion preferences disable the animation.
  • The action area shows the active filename, batch position, elapsed time, real engine progress and Double Upscayl pass. It also holds Cancel while running and Save or ZIP when finished.
  • Mobile keeps the action area at the bottom of the screen. Existing image cache expiry and LAN connection settings continue to apply.
