Trickle 0.1.12 combines the migration safety, recovery and automation improvements developed since 0.1.7.

Added

  • Push version-controlled code (push-git): automatically select plugin/theme folders containing Git repositories, including worktree markers and nested repositories.
  • AI-friendly CLI presets for database pulls (pull-db) and database plus missing plugin folders (pull-db-missing), with read-only plans, structured JSON results and an included operator guide.
  • One-step dashboard Push/Pull and CLI preset execution: stage, verify and apply, then release the session automatically.
  • Three retained destination backups with a separate restore page and CLI restore commands.
  • Matching-version checks and an option to update remote Trickle through the existing static JSON feed, with separate remote permission.
  • Incremental plugin/theme comparisons, paginated staged file previews and resumable checksummed 512 KB transport segments.
  • Named, expiring and revocable connection keys.

Changed

  • Every transfer defaults to the full source active plugin list, including partial and file-only transfers. Uncheck Use source’s full active plugin list or use --keep-destination-plugins to preserve destination activation. Missing plugin files are reported; activation hooks are not replayed.
  • Git-backed destination folders are protected; pulls also protect source repositories. Git overrides require explicit per-transfer inclusion. --yes alone never authorizes Git replacement.
  • Git metadata, .gitignore, node_modules and environment files are always excluded. The Git-code preset copies current working folder contents, including uncommitted changes and generated assets.
  • Failed replacements recover automatically; interrupted streams resume from receiver checkpoints. URL replacement covers HTTP, HTTPS, protocol-relative and JSON-escaped forms.

Installation

Install the same ZIP on both ends. Both sites must run the same Trickle version before transferring. The JSON update feed remains at https://raw.githubusercontent.com/jonschr/trickle/master/update.json.

Validation and limits

84 local signed-HTTPS migration checks passed: 30 preset, 22 activation, 20 reliability and 12 file-recovery checks, plus preflight blockers, PHP/JavaScript syntax and UI workflow regression checks. The package matches the reviewed source and passed a credential-pattern scan.

This remains a preview release. This build was validated on local QA sites; a broader live-hosting matrix remains untested. Database tables are replaced in full, rather than merged by row. Use a current independent backup before a production migration.
