Trickle 0.1.7 preview
Pre-releaseTrickle's first public preview provides selective WordPress push/pull migrations controlled from the local dashboard or WP-CLI.
- Select database tables, plugin folders, themes and media; review installed versions and available updates at both ends.
- Stage and checksum-verify continuous database/file streams before applying; retain a destination rollback backup.
- Compare media in a cached year → month → file cascade, skipping matching folders and transferring only changed or missing files.
- Save multiple named connections, reuse recent transfer settings, preview serialized-safe find/replace rules and inspect backend diagnostics.
- Receive future releases through Plugin Update Checker and the static JSON feed on this repository's master branch.
Validation includes a full Site District → local pull (48 tables, 22,713 rows and 25,196 files), a plugin-only push to Site District, 19 cascading-media checks, 16 updater checks including a native WordPress ZIP upgrade, and update-checker registration across frontend, admin, AJAX, REST, cron and WP-CLI contexts.
This is preview software. It supports single-site WordPress 6.4+, 64-bit PHP 8.1+, cURL, zlib and InnoDB tables without foreign keys. Selected database tables replace destination tables; they are not merged. File application is per-file, not globally atomic. WordPress core, wp-config.php, must-use plugins, external/object storage and multisite are outside this release's migration scope.
The first media comparison builds its checksum cache. Later comparisons scan filesystem metadata and reuse unchanged hashes; choose full recalculation when content may have changed without corresponding metadata changes. Media deletions are not mirrored.
Install the ZIP manually once on existing sites that do not yet have the updater integration. WordPress/host settings control automatic installation of subsequent updates.
