Loop v1.1.5 — enable-notifications recovery banner
Adds a recovery path for missed notification permission.
New
- "Turn on notifications" banner — if you missed or dismissed the notification permission prompt at signup, the driver and cargo-owner home now show a dismissible banner. Tapping Enable re-requests permission (or opens system settings if it was permanently denied), and the banner disappears the moment notifications are on. This closes the gap where a missed prompt left you with no push and no way to fix it.
Points at the production API. Install over any earlier build.
Loop v1.1.4 — account deletion in-app and admin
Makes account deletion usable from the app and the admin dashboard.
New
- Delete your account (in-app) — Settings → Account Management → Delete Account. Requires your password and typing DELETE to confirm, then permanently erases your account. Shared records (conversations, ratings you gave) are kept for the other party with your identity removed; payment records are retained de-identified.
- Admin account deletion — admins can delete a user from the drivers table or the user profile page, with a confirmation and an optional "removed for false documents" blocklist.
Points at the production API. Install over any earlier build.
Loop v1.1.3 — deletion preserves counterparty data, pre-login privacy
Refines account deletion to preserve the other party's data, and surfaces the privacy policy before login.
Improvements
- Account deletion now preserves your counterparty's records. When you delete your account, a conversation or a rating you gave is no longer erased from the other person's side — your identity is removed from it instead, and their rating average is recalculated so it stays accurate.
- Privacy & Terms before login — reachable from the welcome screen in the app and the admin login page, without signing in.
- Policy wording refined (section 8 describes the two-party behaviour; version 1.0).
Points at the production API. Install over any earlier build.
Loop v1.1.2 — privacy policy, account deletion, reliable push
Adds an in-app Privacy Policy & Terms, a real account-deletion path, and fixes reliable push on fresh signup.
New
- Privacy Policy & Terms — reachable in-app under Profile → Privacy & Terms (both driver and cargo owner), with a tappable table of contents. Also published at a public URL: https://loop-admin-prod.up.railway.app/privacy
- Delete your account — self-serve, password-confirmed erasure of your account and the data it owns (Law No. 058/2021 erasure right).
Fixes
- Push on fresh signup — new users now reliably get a device token even when the notification-permission prompt is answered during signup.
- Email verification — the "I've verified" button now checks the real status and only proceeds when your email is actually verified.
- Verification approval — when your last document is approved you're told you've been set online, and the driver home updates without a manual refresh.
Points at the production API. Install over any earlier build.
Loop v1.1.1 — reliable push + instant verification
Patch release on top of v1.1.0 — push notifications now work reliably, and drivers see verification decisions instantly.
Fixes & improvements
- Push notifications fixed — the app no longer wipes a device's FCM token to empty on logout, and new signups now register a token (with a short retry when FCM isn't ready yet). Tokens survive logout/login.
- Instant verification feedback — when an admin approves or rejects a driver's documents, the driver's home screen updates on its own (banner + online status) via the incoming push, with no pull-to-refresh.
- Friendlier network-error messages and a longer connect timeout.
Points at the production API. Install over any earlier build.
Loop v1.1.0 — routing, navigation & payments
⬇️ Download the app
📱 Download loop-v1.1.0.apk (Android, 61 MB)
Pre-configured for the hosted API — no setup needed. Install per the README (you'll allow "install from this source" once). (The same file is also under Assets at the bottom of this page.)
This release brings the app up to date with all work since the v1.0.0 MVP (milestones M7–M9).
What's new since v1.0.0
Routing & in-app navigation (M7)
- Road routing via an OSRM proxy — the cost estimate now uses real road distance and duration, with a great-circle fallback when the router is unreachable.
- Full in-app turn-by-turn navigation for the driver: route line, follow-me camera, voice guidance, off-route rerouting. "Open in Maps" remains as a secondary option.
Pricing v2 (M7)
- Distance-and-time estimate with a per-vehicle minimum-fare floor; the used distance/duration are recorded on the job.
In-app payments — pass-through (M8)
- After a job is completed the owner can pay the driver in-app; a status chip (Pending / Paid / Failed) shows on both sides. Loop never holds funds — it records the settlement. Paying is optional; off-platform settlement still works.
- Runs on the stub payment driver on the hosted demo (no real money moves).
Maps & profile polish (M9)
- A muted "Simple" ↔ "Detailed" basemap toggle and zoom controls on every map.
- Modernised cargo-owner and driver profile screens.
Reliability fixes
- Local-first logout (never hangs on a slow network), push notifications now display correctly (notification channel + local notifications), and a Firebase Storage init fix.
Notes
- Mobile data on some Rwandan carriers (MTN): the app may time out at login on certain mobile-data paths while working normally on Wi-Fi. This is a carrier-to-host routing issue, not an app bug — use Wi-Fi or another carrier for now (details and the durable Cloudflare fix are in
DEPLOYMENT.md§12). - Requires Android with Google Play services for push notifications.
Loop v1.0.0 — MVP
Android APK for the Loop MVP, pre-configured to run against the hosted API (https://loop-api-prod.up.railway.app). No local backend needed.
Install: download loop-v1.0.0.apk below and follow the install instructions in the README. Android 6.0 (API 23) and newer.
The core loop: driver verification, map-based nearby matching, system cost estimate with owner-set price, proposals, in-app messaging, navigation hand-off, and two-way ratings.
