v0.4.0 - chests match their contents

Choose a tag to compare

@junkx420 junkx420 released this 29 Oct 20:38

Chests that match their contents, and song and reward scenes that name
what their location holds. TriAevum-Archipelago-v0.4.0-Windows-x64.zip
holds a new TriAevum.exe for an installed TriAevum v0.8.0-beta.1.2; see
README-ARCHIPELAGO.txt in it. oot3d.apworld is unchanged (world version
0.13.0, SHA-256
fbfe166216e0b283c7d6c5bf2dda7e5440e8eea1605e504013971b808ccf1c0f): keep
the one from v0.3.0 or take it again from here.

New

  • Chests: Match contents (F1 > Archipelago, off by default), as OoT3D
Randomizer's "Classic" chest appearance: a chest with a progression item,
a trap or a boss key is big, any other small; a chest with a key has the
fancy model. For another game's item, "progression" is what Archipelago
says about it. The randomizer's moves of Ganon's Castle's and the Spirit
Temple's chests that would be out of reach at the other size are kept.
It applies to chests that appear after it is turned on, once the client
    is connected.
  • With shuffled songs or dungeon rewards, a teacher's "You learned ..." or
a reward scene's "You got ..." now names the item the location really
holds ("You found Hookshot for Alice!") instead of the game's song or
reward, which Link does not get there.

None of this patches game code.

Checked

  • Host tests for every chest size and model and for every song and reward
    text.
  • In the game (developer build, a local seed): in Mido's house the four
chests were changed; the Progressive Magic Meter's chest was big, the
three with minor items stayed small. With the option off nothing changed.
  • In a copy of an installed TriAevum the new TriAevum.exe matched all 105
    of its game-code checks.

Known

  • A chest was not yet opened with the option on, and the chests in
dungeons and the moved chests were not seen.
  • The new song and reward texts were not yet seen in the game; the song
teacher's and reward scene's pictures still show the game's song or
    reward.
  • The randomizer's chest textures (gold, key, heart, skull) are not
    available.
  • Not supported yet: Master Quest, entrance shuffle, models for other
games' items. The full list is in KNOWN_ISSUES.md.

v0.3.0 - dungeon reward shuffle

Choose a tag to compare

@junkx420 junkx420 released this 29 Oct 12:51

Dungeon reward shuffle. oot3d.apworld world version 0.13.0, for
Archipelago 0.6.7 or newer. SHA-256
fbfe166216e0b283c7d6c5bf2dda7e5440e8eea1605e504013971b808ccf1c0f.
TriAevum-Archipelago-v0.3.0-Windows-x64.zip holds a new TriAevum.exe for
an installed TriAevum v0.8.0-beta.1.2; see README-ARCHIPELAGO.txt in it.
Update both.

New

  • Shuffle Dungeon Rewards: off (default), end of dungeons, any dungeon,
overworld or anywhere. A blue warp, sage or Rauru whose location holds
something else still shows the game's reward, but Link gets nothing there:
the location's item comes from the server (and an in-game message names
it). With the cutscene skips on, the skipped blue warp reports the
    location as before.
  • With rewards shuffled, Link may hold a reward without having beaten its
dungeon, or the other way round. Where the game reacts to a reward, it
now reacts to the dungeon beaten, as in OoT3D Randomizer: Mido to the Deku
Tree instead of the Kokiri Emerald; the Kokiri and the Deku Tree Sprout to
the Forest Temple instead of the Forest Medallion; the Lake Hylia sun to
the Water Temple instead of the Water Medallion. King Zora ignores Zora's
Sapphire. Without shuffled rewards the game is unchanged there.
  • The Door of Time's stones, Sheik's medallions and the Light Arrow cutscene
still ask for the rewards themselves, as the logic does.

None of this patches game code.

Checked

  • Host tests for every rule, the apworld's tests (512 passed), seeds of all
four reward modes generate (also with shuffled songs).
  • In a copy of an installed TriAevum the new TriAevum.exe matched all 102
    of its game-code checks.

Known

  • Shuffled dungeon rewards were not yet played with a seed. A sage's or
blue warp's scene shows the game's reward, a song teacher's scene the
    game's song.
  • Not supported yet: Master Quest, entrance shuffle, models for other
games' items. The full list is in KNOWN_ISSUES.md.

v0.2.0 - song shuffle, withheld locations fixed

Choose a tag to compare

@junkx420 junkx420 released this 29 Oct 00:00

Song shuffle, and fixes for locations the game could withhold.
oot3d.apworld world version 0.12.0, for Archipelago 0.6.7 or newer. SHA-256
85b5b1a1eb64422e6fc6921b3597f3b1dabcc88f922365d7eeeec76ab0bbde00.
TriAevum-Archipelago-v0.2.0-Windows-x64.zip holds a new TriAevum.exe for
an installed TriAevum v0.8.0-beta.1.2; see README-ARCHIPELAGO.txt in it.
Update both: the fixes are in the game client.

Fixed

The logic follows OoT3D Randomizer, which changes the game where it tests
what Link owns instead of whether a location was taken. Without those
changes some locations could never be taken in v0.1.0 and the alphas:

  • Items Link already owns from elsewhere: Darunia's Joy (strength), the
Lake Hylia sun (Fire Arrows), Link the Goron (Goron Tunic; he also
ignored Link once he had the Fire Medallion), King Zora (Zora Tunic) and
Biggoron (Biggoron's Sword) now give their location until it is taken,
    whatever Link owns.
  • The child rolling Goron talks to Link without a bomb bag, as the logic
allows bombchus or the bracelet trick to stop him.
  • Sheik in the Ice Cavern appears once the Iron Boots chest is open, not
once Link owns the Iron Boots.
  • Upgrades from minigames and NPCs: the shooting galleries, the Lost
Woods target, horseback archery, bombchu bowling, the Deku Theater and the
scrubs' stick and nut upgrades offer the next capacity in the game, so with
an upgrade received early their location was not found. They are now
found at any capacity. The Gold Skulltula family's 10 and 30 token rewards
could report each other's location; now each reports its own.

None of this patches game code: for the one test the game makes, the client
shows it the location's state and then restores the save.

New

  • Shuffle Songs: off (default), song locations, dungeon rewards or
anywhere. A teacher whose location holds something else still plays the
game's song scene, but Link learns nothing there: the location's item
comes from the server. Impa, Malon, Saria and the Royal Family's Tomb,
who in the game teach only a Link who does not know their song, teach
    until their location is taken.

Checked

  • Host tests for every rule, the apworld's tests (512 passed), seeds of all
    song modes generate.
  • In a copy of an installed TriAevum the new TriAevum.exe matched all 69 of
    its game-code checks.

Known

  • The fixed NPCs and the song teachers were not yet played with a seed; the
fixes follow the game's code and the 3D randomizer's patches, each read in
    the EUR game.
  • With shuffled songs the teacher's "You learned ..." text names the game's
song. Learning a song by playing it back without an ocarina (ocarina
    shuffle) was not tried.
  • Not supported yet: dungeon reward shuffle, Master Quest, entrance shuffle,
models for other games' items. The full list is in KNOWN_ISSUES.md.

v0.1.0 - first release

Choose a tag to compare

@junkx420 junkx420 released this 28 Oct 23:07

First release out of alpha. oot3d.apworld world version 0.11.2, for
Archipelago 0.6.7 or newer (the logic is the same as in alpha.10 and
alpha.11; seeds are the same). SHA-256
83a4caafe73823b7eea86e3a70778ffb82f7611c74a5084471ec2a97fee98e15.
TriAevum-Archipelago-v0.1.0-Windows-x64.zip holds a new TriAevum.exe for
an installed TriAevum v0.8.0-beta.1.2; see README-ARCHIPELAGO.txt in it.

Everything the alphas brought is here: checks and multiworld items, the
received items, the goal, DeathLink, the world options, shuffles, tricks and
glitched logic, cutscene skips and the client options of alpha.11 (cheats,
fast chests, song replay skip, damage multiplier).

New since alpha.11

  • Another player's item says what it is. A location that holds another
player's item still shows a recovery heart, but its text box now reads
"You found Hookshot for Alice!", with the item in red and the player
in blue. The same for this world's items the game has no get-item for
(for example dungeon keys): "You found Forest Temple Small Key!". It
works through the client's hooks; no game code is patched.
  • Names in messages. Messages no longer say "an item" or "another
player" when the server's data package arrived after the location scouts.
  • Remember password (F1 > Game > Archipelago, off by default): the
password is saved with the server and slot, so auto-connect works with a
passworded room. It is kept as plain text in archipelago.json; turning
    the option off removes it.
  • The setup guide describes the release package (it still said the game must
    be built from source).

Checked

  • The item text was seen in the game, connected to a local server, with a
    real seed's names.
  • wss://: the certificate check passes against archipelago.gg.
  • The new TriAevum.exe was started in a copy of an installed TriAevum: all
of the client's hooks matched the game's code.

Known

  • Fast chests, the song replay skip and the damage multiplier (all off by
default) were not yet tried on a chest, a song or a hit in the game, nor
was the item text opened on a real chest; a whole session on a room hosted
on archipelago.gg was not tried either.
  • Not supported yet: song and dungeon reward shuffles, Master Quest,
entrance shuffle, models for other games' items.
  • The full list is in KNOWN_ISSUES.md.

v0.1.0-alpha.11 - client options

Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

@junkx420 junkx420 released this 28 Oct 22:38

Eleventh alpha: client options. oot3d.apworld world version 0.11.1, for
Archipelago 0.6.7 or newer (only its setup guide changed; seeds are the same
as with 0.11.0). SHA-256
b7df239f26766563475676d05fd2a24993b6f4c2378b3ecd839371325073157b.
TriAevum-Archipelago-v0.1.0-alpha.11-Windows-x64.zip holds a new
TriAevum.exe; see README-ARCHIPELAGO.txt in it.

New

All in the F1 menu, Game > Archipelago, and off (or x1) by default. They
work with or without a connection and change nothing the seed or the server
sees.

  • Cheats (as in Ship of Harkinian): infinite health, magic, ammo and
rupees. Each keeps what Link already has full, up to his capacity: no
magic before the meter, no arrows before the bow. A hit bigger than all
hearts and a DeathLink death still kill Link.
  • Fast chests: every chest opens as a small one does, without the slow
opening, the light and the fanfare (as the 3D randomizer's "always fast"
    chest animations).
  • Song replays: Skip does not play a song back after Link plays it;
Skip, no sound skips the replay's music too (not for the Scarecrow's
Song). The Song of Time and warp blocks do not wait for the skipped
replay. As the 3D randomizer's "Skip Song Replays".
  • Damage taken: x1/2, x2, x4, x8, x16 or one hit KO, as the 3D
randomizer's damage multiplier. Healing is not changed; Master Quest keeps
its double damage. The seed's logic assumes x1.

None of them patches game code: they work through the client's hooks, which
check the game's code before they start.

Known

  • The cheats were seen in the game (full rupees and ammo). Fast chests, the
song replay skip and the damage multiplier are tested on the host, and
their hooks were checked against the game's code in a run, but they were
not yet tried on a chest, a song or a hit in the game.
  • With the song replay skip the song's light effects still play out (the
    3D randomizer removes them).

v0.1.0-alpha.10 - glitched logic

Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

@junkx420 junkx420 released this 28 Oct 14:33

Tenth alpha: glitched logic. oot3d.apworld world version 0.11.0, for
Archipelago 0.6.7 or newer. SHA-256
86683b57d96b5b8a74bd40c1c7599db1d3d7c9e3dcbd685853c411c1400f0793.
TriAevum-Archipelago-v0.1.0-alpha.10-Windows-x64.zip holds the same
TriAevum.exe as alpha.8 and alpha.9 (the client did not change); see
README-ARCHIPELAGO.txt in it.

New

  • Glitched logic (Options Creator group "Glitches", collapsed by
default). Logic Rules: glitched turns on the OoT3D Randomizer's
glitched conditions. Its 21 glitch categories (ISG, Bomb Hover, Megaflip,
QPA, Hookshot Clip, Ledge Clip, ...) each have the difficulties the 3D
randomizer gives them (Novice to Hero); its 14 single glitches (Blue Fire
walls, child in the Gerudo Valley tent, adult in Jabu-Jabu, Forest boss key
skip, ...) are toggles. As in 3D, some glitches raise the small keys a
door needs. Each category and single glitch was compared with the 3D
randomizer's own logic: with it on, the logic never expects more than the
    3D randomizer does.
  • Universal Tracker rebuilds the seed's glitches from its slot data.

Fixed

These apply to glitchless seeds too; both make the logic stricter, as in 3D.

  • The Bottle with Big Poe no longer counts as a bottle (for example for
King Zora or the blue fire in the Ice Cavern).
  • Sheik in the Ice Cavern now needs adult Link.

Known

  • 38 of the 3D randomizer's 274 glitched conditions are left out, so a
glitched seed expects less than the 3D randomizer, never more: areas Ship
of Harkinian splits differently (Gerudo Fortress, parts of Jabu-Jabu),
enemy randomizer helpers and Master Quest.
  • Ledge Clip and the Forest boss key skip alone give clearly fewer
locations than in 3D, for the same reason.
  • The glitches were not tried in the game; the player performs them.

v0.1.0-alpha.9 - verified 3D tricks

Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

@junkx420 junkx420 released this 27 Oct 14:54

Ninth alpha: logical tricks. oot3d.apworld world version 0.10.0, for
Archipelago 0.6.7 or newer. SHA-256
b5bb5ca7496b03a84c6a18edfbca1393218f16103d4674a77ba80a2c0327d7a1.
TriAevum-Archipelago-v0.1.0-alpha.9-Windows-x64.zip holds the same
TriAevum.exe as alpha.8 (the client did not change); see
README-ARCHIPELAGO.txt in it.

New

  • Tricks in Logic: 33 tricks, chosen by their OoT3D Randomizer names
(for example "DT B1 Navigation w/o Slingshot", "Haunted Wasteland w/o Lens
of Truth"). Each one was compared with the 3D randomizer's own logic: with
it on, the logic never expects more than the 3D randomizer does.
"Enable All Tricks" turns all of them on.

Fixed

  • With Gold Skulltula tokens shuffled, the Deku Tree basement vines token
was in logic with only a jump slash; it now needs a projectile, Din's Fire
or the new trick "DT B1 Vines GS w/ Jump Slash", as in the 3D randomizer.

Glitched logic is not part of this release.

v0.1.0-alpha.8 - more Ship of Harkinian options

Choose a tag to compare

@junkx420 junkx420 released this 27 Oct 14:22

Eighth alpha. TriAevum-Archipelago-v0.1.0-alpha.8-Windows-x64.zip replaces
TriAevum.exe in a Forge-prepared TriAevum v0.8.0-beta.1.2 (Windows, EUR);
see README-ARCHIPELAGO.txt in it. oot3d.apworld world version 0.9.0, for
Archipelago 0.6.7 or newer. SHA-256
450441e3b8d1d76f9d4d03a321f480f48fa221cf0ade65fcaaa2b211044da79f.
Update both together.

New options

  • Rainbow bridge by stones, medallions, dungeon rewards, dungeons or Gold
Skulltula tokens: the bridge appears once your save has enough.
  • Triforce hunt: collect the required Triforce Pieces to win; an in-game
    message counts them.
  • Starting hearts (1 to 20) for a new file.
  • Shuffle ocarinas, the Weird Egg and the Gerudo membership card.

Tested headless with seeds using the new options: every location is in the
client's table, and the release exe in a copy of a Forge-prepared beta.1.2
installation connects and scouts. Not yet seen in the game.

v0.1.0-alpha.7 - cow and shop shuffles

Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

@junkx420 junkx420 released this 27 Oct 14:00

Seventh alpha. TriAevum-Archipelago-v0.1.0-alpha.7-Windows-x64.zip replaces
TriAevum.exe in a Forge-prepared TriAevum v0.8.0-beta.1.2 (Windows, EUR);
see README-ARCHIPELAGO.txt in it. oot3d.apworld world version 0.8.0, for
Archipelago 0.6.7 or newer. SHA-256
fee6e26bb27ffeabd1e8b45071909ceec369759c4e147cb161191dc5d1a59ed8.
Update both together.

New

  • Cow shuffle: play Epona's Song to a cow; it gives its location's item
without needing an empty bottle, then milk as usual.
  • Shop shuffle (with how many items per shop are shuffled): a shuffled slot
sells its location's item at the seed's price, once, then shows sold out.
The shelf still shows the game's own item and text, so read the in-game
message after buying to see what you got.

Tested headless with a seed shuffling shops and cows (313 locations): the
dev build and the release exe in a copy of a Forge-prepared beta.1.2
installation connect and scout it, with the client's hooks verified against
the running code. Not yet seen in the game: a cow or a shop purchase; please
report what happens.

v0.1.0-alpha.6 - Skulltula and scrub shuffles

Choose a tag to compare

@junkx420 junkx420 released this 27 Oct 13:19

Sixth alpha. TriAevum-Archipelago-v0.1.0-alpha.6-Windows-x64.zip replaces
TriAevum.exe in a Forge-prepared TriAevum v0.8.0-beta.1.2 (Windows, EUR);
see README-ARCHIPELAGO.txt in it. oot3d.apworld world version 0.7.0, for
Archipelago 0.6.7 or newer. SHA-256
7e4de721f488eecc55f3ee3f72957483c05c072f43ce5d1d3a9cf53f984c8f6c.
Update both together.

New

  • Gold Skulltula token shuffle (dungeon, overworld or all). A token counts
however you take it, also while disconnected; where its location holds
another item, that item comes from the server.
  • Deku scrub shuffle (the three one-time scrubs, or all). A scrub sells the
location's item once, then its own; prices are the game's.
  • "Night Gold Skulltulas expect Sun's Song" (logic only).

Not yet: cows and shops, which need changes in the game's code.

Tested headless with a seed shuffling every token and scrub (408
locations): the dev build and the release exe in a copy of a Forge-prepared
beta.1.2 installation; tokens already in the save were reported on
connecting. Not yet seen in the game: taking a shuffled token or buying from
a shuffled scrub.
