Nanolight 0.2.8
Nanolight 0.2.8 for macOS 14 and later (Apple silicon: open the disk image and drag Nanolight to Applications), Windows 10 and later (x86_64: unzip and run nanolight.exe) and Linux (x86_64, arm64; X11, GTK 3: unpack and run nanolight).
Nanolight 0.2.7
The panel's height now lands at once, with no spring.
- Height: the rows are ready in the same frame as the key press, so the panel now takes its right size straight away. On Windows and Linux this also stops the window being resized on every frame of the animation.
- While typing: the panel keeps its height while Google's completions are on their way, then changes once, so the footer doesn't jump down and up with each key.
- File Search (Mac): a new switch in Settings, off by default. Files and folders are found by name through Spotlight, or by typing a path from
/or~. Thanks to @omerdikyol for #16. - System Settings: the General pane is found on macOS 26, where it moved.
Nanolight 0.2.7 for macOS 14 and later (Apple silicon: open the disk image and drag Nanolight to Applications), Windows 10 and later (x86_64: unzip and run nanolight.exe) and Linux (x86_64, arm64; X11, GTK 3: unpack and run nanolight).
Nanolight 0.2.6
Fixes the crash reported in #19.
Typing a query that matched a full list of apps and three System Settings panes made the panel count its free rows into the negative: max_rows - r.n - handoffs - (panes > 0) underflowed usize, the subtraction panicked (integer overflow) on the main thread, and macOS reported it as EXC_CRASH (SIGABRT) / abort() called. That is also why some short queries crashed and others (1p, xy, zz, chrome) did not: the panel had to be full, from the apps down to the panes.
- System Settings' panes now take only the rows left beside the apps, the three handoff rows (Google, Grok, X) and their section header, so the panel keeps its height and every handoff stays on screen.
- The room left for Google's completions is counted with saturating subtraction, so no such total can wrap again.
- A regression test builds the panel with a full list of apps and panes and checks its rows.
Thanks to @shadownrx for #17, the fix this release ships, and to @ubranch for #18, the same diagnosis reached from the other side.
