Admin Actions: Run Full ES Index Reset

Owen Stephens edited this page Oct 15, 2015 · 2 revisions

This option drops the existing ElasticSearch index (which is used for the Package, Title and sitewide ‘Spotlight’ searches) and completely re-indexes KB+. This process is relatively quick (a few minutes) but while it is occurring searches which use the ElasticSearch index will be either empty or incomplete in terms of the results returned.

This option is a complete reset of the search index which should only be used where there are issues with the current ElasticSearch index (e.g. missing entries) which cannot be resolved through other means.

Typically after an update to the KB+ software running a 'Full ES Index Reset" is a good idea as it will ensure any changes to the way content is indexed or searched will be applied.
