TS3AudioBot 0.12.11 — kaiser62 edition

First release of the kaiser62 edition of TS3AudioBot, a fork of Splamy/TS3AudioBot for feeding TeamSpeak music bots straight from YouTube and Spotify.

What's inside

• YouTube userscript 1.4.0 (ts3audiobot.user.js)
  • Play or queue the current video from buttons next to Like and Share that look like YouTube's own, with a ▾ menu to pick the bot.
  • Tick songs in Mixes and playlists and queue them in one go, with live progress, a reason for each song that fails, and Try again.
  • Looks native in YouTube's light and dark themes.
• Spotify extension (ts3audiobot.js, Spicetify)
  • Right-click tracks, albums, playlists, Liked Songs or artists in the Spotify app.
  • Each track plays from its best YouTube match. lyrics explicit is added to each search by default, to prefer plain audio and uncensored versions; if that finds nothing, the plain search is tried.
• Bot (TS3AudioBot-0.12.11-kaiser.1-linux-x64.tar.gz, binary reports 0.12.28): self-contained Linux x64 build with the web interface and the deploy/ scripts.
  • A public web API with per-user !api token auth, anonymous-remote blocking and Cloudflare-aware IPs.
  • Session-free search first play|add commands.
  • YouTube via yt-dlp in Docker, with cookies, a cache and auto-update.
  • Range-chunked googlevideo downloads, so no more 403s.
  • Better audio format choice and readable yt-dlp errors.
  • An optional per-channel step log.

Setup

See the Quick start in the README. In short:

1. Run the bot and set up the deploy/ scripts.
2. Enable [web.api] with allow_anonymous_remote = false.
3. Publish only /api/* over HTTPS.
4. Users install a sender and connect it with their TeamSpeak unique ID and the token from !api token.

Known issues

• YouTube live streams don't play. They are skipped by design via skip=hls.
• Linux x64 only. Build other platforms from source.

Updates

• 2026-10-15: assets refreshed. Userscript 1.4.0; the Spotify extension retries a search without the suffix when it finds nothing; deploy/youtube-dl in the tarball now passes arguments safely, so searches with apostrophes work and can no longer run commands in the container. Update an existing install by replacing your youtube-dl wrapper with the one from the tarball.

• 2026-10-17: bot binary rebuilt from master (0.12.28). When a search first query finds nothing on YouTube, the bot now retries with looser versions of it: without trailing words like lyrics explicit, without bracketed parts, then with just one of the listed artists. This works for every sender. Also stops a stray ObjectDisposedException error appearing in the log after some yt-dlp runs. Update by replacing the TS3AudioBot binary.
