Democracy Defender Mod Manager (DDMM), release candidate 18: your mods, your democracy, defended. It's still an
early build, but it's meant to be usable by anyone, not just developers.

The DDMM Promise, in brief: every mod is welcome (DDMM never blocks, blacklists or ranks mods or mod sites),
no account is ever needed on any site, your files stay in a folder you control, it's Apache-2.0 open source
forever, and update checks never run unless you ask.

Quick start

  1. Download the right file for you (see the table below).
  2. Run it. DDMM looks for your Helldivers 2 install automatically. If Steam is in its usual place, there's
    nothing to set up.
  3. Add mods and click Deploy. Drag in an archive or folder, or click "Add URL" and paste a link.

Works with AyakaMods, Nexus Mods, ModWorkshop, GameBanana, GitHub, any direct link, or files already on your

What's new in 2.0.0-rc.18

Maintenance update

  • Fixed a rare memory bug on Linux. It was in a library DDMM uses for opening links and keeping a single
    window, and it could only happen while DDMM was closing. Windows wasn't affected.
  • Updated two other libraries for security advisories. Neither affects DDMM in practice.

Nothing else changes for you. If rc.17 works for you, there's no rush to update.

If you're coming from rc.14 or earlier

If you used the Skip List with rc.14 or earlier, verify the game files in Steam once (Library → Helldivers 2 →
Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity of game files). Older versions could delete the game's own files
for those names.

Skipped a few? rc.10 had important safety fixes, rc.11 fixed mod deletion, rc.12 fixed mod option dropdowns, rc.13 fixed AyakaMods update checks, rc.14 fixed the Mods page stuck on "Loading...", rc.15 fixed Deploy and Purge removing mods and game files, rc.16 added Replace for mods with the same ID and rc.17 was a security update for archive extraction; see the releases page.

Known limitations

  • Windows builds are unsigned. Windows SmartScreen will likely show a warning the first time you run the
    installer or the app. Click "More info" → "Run anyway" to continue.
  • The Linux .rpm and .deb are unsigned, so openSUSE needs zypper install --allow-unsigned-rpm.
  • This is still a release candidate. Expect some rough edges, and please report what you find.
