@kirakosyan kirakosyan released this 02 Nov 09:42
4eb088f

1.6.0 — bounded compatibility and document workflows

wordnet, wordnet.Fonts and wordnet.Ocr use the same version. This release
packages a bounded milestone from roadmap #138;
the roadmap and its remaining acceptance work stay open. The source matrix
lists tested and rejected combinations. These profiles do not imply unrestricted
Microsoft Word fidelity or support for every combination of features.

Changes

  • Resolve selected local DOCX theme text appearances and retain bounded table
    styles, borders and shading, with explicit diagnostics for unqualified cases.
  • Preserve selected glossary metadata; extend bounded typed-control ownership,
    creation and removal; and compose admitted fields, controls, charts and equations
    into body or simple-cell destinations.
  • Add a detached PDF/SVG review display for selected text revisions and numbered
    annotations, plus bounded comparison policies for story text and formatting.
  • Extend mixed report nesting and cross-tab placement and refresh a conservative
    subset of numeric table formulas and percentage pictures.
  • Add selected chart forms, point labels, basic vector shapes, cardinal gradients,
    general-angle text boxes and matrix/n-ary equation authoring. Independent
    reference differences remain diagnosed in the affected static-output profiles.
  • Add bounded caller-supplied hyphenation, Japanese/Chinese line-breaking options,
    selected native-typography combinations and opt-in managed accessibility and
    tagged archival profiles.
  • Recognize macro-free DOTX/OTT identities and inspect bounded format signatures;
    add a bounded immutable preview-layout snapshot.
  • Inspect declared template data and selected fields and compile a narrow,
    in-process plain-DOCX-to-PDF policy plan. General template execution, portable
    plans and complete loss-policy enforcement are not included.

The linked implementation status and feature profiles
define the admitted owners, output types, resource rules, diagnostics and remaining
work for each item. Some features require explicit non-strict or opt-in settings.
The retained 1.5.0 baseline is historical evidence,
not a new parity claim.

Compatibility and limits

The core and OCR packages retain net462;net472;netstandard2.0;net8.0;net10.0;
wordnet.Fonts targets netstandard2.0. AssemblyVersion remains 1.0.0.0. API
compatibility is checked against 1.5.0 during packing. Layout and rendering fixes
can change pagination; verify representative templates and diagnostics when upgrading.
PDF input requires the matching optional OCR provider, and English OCR needs local
Tesseract and language data.

Actual Framework 4.7.2 x64 requires the documented legacy-JIT configuration.
Actual Framework 4.6.2, Android/macOS release support, extra OCR languages,
encryption and signatures remain outside the release profile. Native typography,
review, accessible/archival output and drawings have separately bounded profiles;
support for one does not imply support for every combination. Final-copy I/O or
cancellation can leave a partially written caller stream. Independent Word/Aspose
references were not provisioned for the documented open-reference comparisons.

Qualification and publication

The release requires successful exact-main desktop source and package/Standard
checks, actual Framework 4.7.2 source and immutable-package guests, independent
validators, performance/resource checks and package inspection. The publishing
workflow retests the same artifact before uploading. These are gates to be verified
for the final release commit; this document alone does not establish publication.
Historical measurements retain their original source, package and runtime identities.

Verified release candidate

PR #174 merged as 4eb088f4cdbd25d3591bbfefe7b785239288eb26. Exact-main CI passed the desktop source, package and .NET Standard fallback matrix. Actual Windows Framework 4.7.2 source and package guests each passed 2,466 tests with legacy JIT and verified cleanup. Android API compilation passed as a portability check. The unchanged exact-main PDF performance and memory gate passed.

The prior Framework host disk-preflight failure remains recorded in the qualification evidence. Passing hosted guests used the larger disk layout; alternate-disk selection has local test coverage.

The publication workflow retested the immutable main artifacts on Windows/Linux x64 and ARM64 before uploading the three packages and symbols. The attached qualification and publication-test archives retain the reports and hashes.

All three public NuGet packages were compared entry by entry with the tested archives. Fresh .NET 8 and .NET 10 consumers passed text and PDF conversion, and their loaded assembly hashes match the tested packages.

Post-release tag check

The tag-triggered Framework package job failed its host preflight: the runner had 37 GiB free against the required 60 GiB, and /mnt shared that filesystem. No guest or tests ran. The independently verified exact-main Framework 4.7.2 source and package guests passed before publication. The smaller-runner storage fallback remains unqualified on hosts without a separate disk; the attached failure evidence retains the report and cleanup receipt (SHA-256 2d5a2e5d36dafcd528d1a87773f7701157de65821d0dd02afffc3dccc7a0c266).

1.5.0 — document workflows, review and drawings

Choose a tag to compare

@kirakosyan kirakosyan released this 29 Oct 01:13
bf5ab00

Version 1.5.0 completes roadmap #102 with typed fields and content controls, mixed/master-detail reports, review histories and drawing improvements. It also corrects DOCX defaults, table/note layout and Word formatting round trips.

Use matching versions of wordnet, wordnet.Fonts and wordnet.Ocr. See the release notes and capability matrix for migration and combination limits.

All release gates pass: 1,498 cases per complete suite, no failures/skips, native desktop source/package/Standard lanes and actual Framework 4.7.2 source/package execution with verified cleanup. Existing platform limits and independent fidelity differences remain documented.

Qualified commit: bf5ab004d1622e66084aedf4bbc83e3cf8d9c2c7. Exact-main CI · NuGet publication. Public payloads match the tested artifact; fresh public-only .NET 8/.NET 10 consumers pass. Immutable packages, symbols, checksums and qualification receipts are attached.

Temporary qualification worktrees, consumer caches and downloads were removed after remote archive verification. Shared development tooling/caches and accepted source branches are retained.

1.3.0

Choose a tag to compare

@kirakosyan kirakosyan released this 20 Oct 21:14
c723fb8

The 1.3.0 source adds bounded editable column/line charts and OMML equations, managed PDF/XPS/SVG rendering, and opt-in Unicode 17 bidi/Hindi paragraphs with a qualified ordinary PDF/UA-1 profile. Math needs an explicit caller MATH font; native text needs the optional provider and suitable caller fonts. Objects and native/UA output have separate combination limits. See the P2 profile and capability matrix. These changes are implemented in PR #86, building on merged P0 and P1 work. See the 1.3.0 release record for qualification and publication status.

wordnet 1.1.0

Choose a tag to compare

@kirakosyan kirakosyan released this 16 Oct 17:40
bc6ada4

1.1.0 — enterprise export desktop release

Stable managed DOC/DOCX export to PDF and self-contained HTML for the documented
Windows/Linux x64 and ARM64 profile. All three packages share version 1.1.0:
wordnet.Fonts, wordnet, and optional wordnet.Ocr.

Features and review fixes

  • Managed PDF 1.7 and optional independently validated PDF/A-2b output, embedded
    font subsets, safe links, optional heading outlines and fixed-clock determinism.
  • Self-contained HTML with inline CSS, data images, nested lists/tables and safe
    links. Optional headers/footers select the first page's applicable stories.
  • Caller TTF/CFF/TTC fonts, licensed metric-compatible bundled fallbacks, kern/GPOS
    pair positioning, stories, cached fields and render-time page fields.
  • Lenient geometry scaling/splitting and explicit unsupported-feature diagnostics;
    grouped diagnostic counts, conversion metrics and byte-array result overloads.
  • All PR #5 review corrections: cached field containers, heading-font registration,
    independent HTML reflow, Strict revision/comment rejection, font selection and
    inheritance, JPEG termination, unsupported-image placeholders, DOCX schema order,
    decorated tabs/breaks, XPS diagnostics and cell/header scaling origins.

Upgrade and support

wordnet brings managed wordnet.Fonts automatically. All PDF input, including
digital PDF import and scanned-PDF OCR, now requires an explicit reference to
wordnet.Ocr at version 1.1.0. Existing conversion signatures and AssemblyVersion
1.0.0.0 remain compatible. Assemblies use ordinary NuGet deployment; no GAC variant
is supplied.

Targets: net462;net472;netstandard2.0;net8.0;net10.0. Actual Framework 4.7.2 x64
requires the documented legacy JIT configuration. Actual Framework 4.6.2,
Android/macOS execution, complex scripts and optional tagged PDF remain outside
the qualified profile. Word pagination evidence covers the authored corpus;
arbitrary document layout parity is not guaranteed. PDF import retains editable
content but does not reconstruct the original layout.

The release gate requires all 487 conversion/OCR cases, current actual-Framework
4.7.2 source and exact-main-package runs, native Windows/Linux x64/ARM64 CI,
API/dependency/package verification, PDF/A and resource/performance gates. See
testing, minimum-runtime qualification
and the release procedure for evidence and boundaries.

Publication and verification

  • Stable NuGet packages: wordnet 1.1.0, wordnet.Fonts 1.1.0, wordnet.Ocr 1.1.0.
  • Exact-main CI: 26 complete source/package suites, each 487/487 passing with zero skips on native Windows/Linux x64 and ARM64.
  • Publication workflow: nine additional exact-package suites, each 487/487 passing, before the immutable artifact was pushed using NuGet Trusted Publishing.
  • Actual .NET Framework 4.7.2 x64 (release key 461814): source and final-main-package suites each passed 487/487 with zero skips using the required legacy JIT; compatjit.dll was observed and assembly hashes were recorded.
  • All 38 PDF/A-2b files independently validated. The 64-worker by 200-iteration mixed PDF/HTML determinism gate passed. The ten-page single-core benchmark median was 41.2 ms, with a 38.3 MB managed-memory upper bound on the CI runner.
  • Public repository signatures verified for all three packages; shipped content matched the tested artifact. Fresh public-feed consumers passed HTML, PDF round-trip content and English scanned-PDF OCR checks on .NET 8 and .NET 10.

The attached qualification JSON and report archive contain exact commits, package and assembly hashes, native test reports, actual-minimum-runtime reports, performance/resource measurements and public-consumer verification. Attached nupkgs are the repository-signed public NuGet copies; snupkgs are the original CI symbol bundles. Customer files are excluded.

wordnet 1.0.0

Choose a tag to compare

@kirakosyan kirakosyan released this 14 Oct 21:23
8f20158

1.0.0

First stable release of the documented Windows/Linux desktop conversion profile.
The library is independently authored and MIT licensed, with explicit diagnostics for
features outside that profile. Android and macOS are deferred for this release.

  • All 28 DOC/DOCX conversion directions, XPS output and editable English printed-text
    OCR for scanned and mixed PDFs.
  • Next-page section geometry, paragraph spacing/indents/keep controls, multi-paragraph
    table cells, horizontal/vertical merges, repeating headers and long-row pagination.
  • Optional OCR rotation/deskew and separately enabled two-column reading order; default
    OCR preserves native line and paragraph order. Recognition supports cancellation.
  • Defensive document parsing, bounded input/output/expansion, staged destinations and
    explicit strict/best-effort fidelity handling. Hard deadlines require host isolation.
  • 348 shared conversion/OCR/regression cases, independent schema/format readers and
    layout/OCR fixtures, isolated mutation and concurrent resource campaigns, and exact
    NuGet/explicit .NET Standard asset validation on native Windows/Linux x64 and ARM64.
  • Public API compatibility across net472;netstandard2.0;net8.0;net10.0 and against
    published alpha.9; runtime dependencies are unchanged.

Actual .NET Framework 4.7.2 x64 requires <useLegacyJit enabled="1" /> in the host
application's runtime configuration. Default-JIT 4.7.2 operation is unsupported because
of a reproduced runtime code-generation defect. Framework 4.8.1 uses default settings.
The library does not change host configuration. Tesseract 5 and English data must be
supplied locally, matching the process architecture.

This release does not promise original Word pagination or unrestricted rich-document
fidelity. Password protection, tracked changes/comments, editable charts/equations,
arbitrary fonts, nested tables, handwriting and non-English OCR remain outside the
profile. Android, macOS, trimming and AOT are unqualified.

See README, fidelity,
qualification, test evidence and
minimum-runtime configuration.

Verification: main CI, NuGet publication, NuGet 1.0.0.

The attached qualification JSON records all 26 native source/package runtime reports, resource measurements, actual Framework 4.7.2 legacy-JIT execution, package hashes and matching public NuGet assets. A clean public consumer passes document conversion and editable OCR on .NET 8 and 10.

@kirakosyan kirakosyan released this 13 Oct 19:21
c5b1704

wordnet 0.1.0-alpha.9

First public evaluation alpha of the independent MIT-licensed .NET Word converter.
The package and assembly are wordnet; the public C# namespace is WordNet.

Included

  • All 28 directions: DOC ↔ DOCX; each Word format ↔ PDF, Markdown, TXT, EPUB, MOBI
    and AZW3; each Word format → XPS.
  • Local English printed-text OCR for scanned/mixed PDF → editable DOC/DOCX. The host
    supplies Tesseract 5 native libraries and English data; these are not in the NuGet.
  • Supported font sizes/colors, alignment, simple tables with widths/padding, editable
    decimal/bulleted lists and inline PNG/JPEG in the documented format profiles.
  • Explicit diagnostics for detected fidelity losses, bounded input/output, caller-owned
    streams, synchronous and asynchronous APIs.
  • net472, netstandard2.0, net8.0 and net10.0 assets with matching public APIs.

Evidence and limits

The 236-case suite includes every conversion direction, OCR, independent DOCX validation,
formatting/image regressions and malformed-input checks. It passes on native Windows and
Linux x64/ARM64 CI runtimes, Windows Framework, and a Samsung ARM64 Android 16 device.
Release publishing additionally runs the suite against the exact CI-built NuGet on the
desktop runtime matrix. Android device evidence applies to the unchanged converter source;
the hosted Android job is compilation-only.

This is not production-qualified. Word pagination, sections, headers/footers, merged
tables, complex typography, broad EPUB/Kindle compatibility and noisy/complex OCR remain
limited. Password protection, tracked changes/comments and editable charts/equations
are deferred. Resource admission checks are not a CPU/memory sandbox. Broader independent
corpora, fuzzing, measured performance and minimum OS/device coverage are still needed.
macOS is deferred; trimming/AOT are not qualified.

See the README,
fidelity profile,
test evidence and
remaining plan.

dotnet add package wordnet --version 0.1.0-alpha.9

Release validation

  • Fresh restore from nuget.org: all 236 tests pass on Windows ARM64 .NET 10. Every package payload entry matches the tested CI artifact; NuGet added its repository signature. See public-package-verification.json.
  • Main CI: all four library targets, nine native desktop runtime test lanes, formatting and packaging.
  • Android compilation: passed; device execution remains the documented 236-case run against unchanged converter sources.
  • NuGet release workflow: the exact CI package passed 236 cases on each of nine runtime lanes (2,124 passing executions; no failures/skips), then package and symbols were submitted using OIDC.

Source commit: c5b17041b35cb02f9d0e613d361c65264c135868. Attached packages are the tested CI artifacts. SHA256SUMS.txt covers these attachments; NuGet's repository signature can change the downloaded ZIP bytes without changing the package payload.
