v0.24.0

This release adds official Python 3.14 support and testing for the base package
and the Torch and CenterNet extras. It updates dependencies for compatibility
and security, supports NumPy 2 across the supported Python versions, and improves
CI reliability with cached environments and Python images from Amazon ECR Public.

Updates / New Features

  • Added Python 3.14 support and testing for the core package and both optional
    dependency configurations. Updated NumPy, Torch, Torchvision, Numba, and test
    dependencies to versions with Python 3.14 support.

  • Updated the minimum SMQTK dependency versions to Core 0.22.0,
    Dataprovider 0.20.0, Image-IO 0.19.0, and Classifier 0.21.0.

  • Declared NumPy compatibility floors for Python 3.10–3.12, 3.13, and 3.14
    without an upper bound. Supported Torchvision versions exclude Python 3.14.1.

  • Required OpenCV 4.10.0.84 or newer for NumPy 2-compatible pre-built packages.

CI / CD

  • Added a dependency review workflow to improve tracking and resolution of
    dependabot alerts.

  • Resolved cache size issues by splitting the unit test workflow into separate
    core and extras jobs, with the extras job depending on core.

Fixes

  • Updated direct and locked dependencies to resolve reported security
    vulnerabilities, including the optional PyTorch dependencies.

  • CI pulls Docker's official Python images from Amazon ECR Public, avoiding
    Docker Hub's unauthenticated pull rate limit without requiring credentials.
