New data source: LEHD LODES

Powers the OnTheMap visualization. The new `census_lodes` source downloads
WAC (workplace) and RAC (residence) area characteristics per state and
aggregates blocks up to census tracts.

New tract-level metrics

Metric What it tells you
`jobs_in_tract` How many jobs are physically located in this neighborhood
`workers_living_in_tract` How many residents commute out to a job
`jobs_workers_ratio` Job-center vs bedroom-community indicator
`jobs_high_earner_pct` Share of jobs paying >$40k/yr
`workers_high_earner_pct` Share of residents earning >$40k/yr
`jobs_young_worker_pct` Share of workforce ≤29 years old
`jobs_industry_goods_pct` Goods-producing industries (Ag/Mining/Util/Const/Mfg)
`jobs_industry_trade_pct` Trade, transport, warehousing
`jobs_industry_services_pct` All other services

Notes

  • First lookup per state: ~5–10s download + parse (state CSV is 50–200 MB compressed). Cached after that.
  • Massachusetts opted out of LEHD — the source returns empty cleanly for MA tracts.
  • Public-domain federal data, commercial-use clean.

Tests

89 → 137 (+48 in this version, +19 just for LODES).
