• Card icons: <Card icon="image">, <Card icon="plus">, and <Card icon="warning"> rendered the literal words "image", "plus", "warning" in the UI (visible on the Introduction page for brewui), because Card.astro's iconMap was a strict whitelist that fell through to rawIcon on miss. Root cause + remediation:
  • Extended iconMap to 65 entries — added image 🖼️, plus ➕, warning ⚠️, plus 30 more common icons (bell, bolt, bug, calendar, clock, cloud, database, gear, globe, graph, hammer, key, label, magic, megaphone, note, phone, pin, refresh, robot, scroll, shieldCheck, ship, target, test, tool, trophy, zap, …) so future pages have breathing room.
  • Unknown icon names now render a deterministic fallback (hash → stable pick from the map) and log console.warn in build + browser, instead of leaking raw text into prose. A missing icon is visible and noisy without breaking the page.
  • Verified by independent re-scan: 38/38 icon names used across content are now present in iconMap — zero missing.

rules

Added

• .claude/rules/astro-avoid.md#5,#6,#7 — new path-scoped rules (now covering web/**/*.mdx) that explicitly forbid unlisted Card icons and raw exotic emoji in MDX, and require adding to iconMap before use. Agents touching Astro/MDX pages will pick this up automatically via the glob.
