The file system reaches the whole disk:

  • FileSystem operations take a user number, so files in any of the 16 user areas are reachable, with entries() listing the whole disk as FileEntry records carrying the size, users() naming the user areas in use, size() and rename().
  • DiskMap reads a disk image's directory directly, not through BDOS: every slot classified, live and erased files assembled from their entries, and every block accounted for. Its split() takes the disk apart, every byte into one part -- the system tracks, the directory, the live files, the erased files with the blocks taken over since filled in, the unallocated blocks -- with a report and a note per part, for recovering erased files.
