What's new
New features
- Autocomplete for directives and icon shortcodes. Type
!and a letter at the start of a line to see Kova's directives, each with a short description, then pick one to insert it ready to fill in. Type:and two letters to search icon shortcodes, with a preview of each icon. Suggestions stay out of the way inside code blocks, HTML comments and front matter (requested by @ilikegis, #275). - Experimental: a faster diagram renderer. A new "Diagram renderer" option in Settings → Workspace can draw
```mermaidblocks with Pele instead of Mermaid. Pele is much faster and lighter, which helps diagram-heavy decks, but it's new and its layout differs slightly from Mermaid's, so Mermaid stays the default. Diagram types Pele doesn't support yet are still drawn by Mermaid, and PPTX and PDF exports keep your theme's colours with either renderer.
Bug fixes
- Icons now appear in HTML and PDF exports on Windows. Exported files were still pointing back at the running app for the icon font and bundled theme fonts, so icons and those fonts went missing once the file was opened elsewhere (reported by @a1880, #272).
- Dense slides in PPTX exports now fit when opened. Body text was exported at a fixed size and relied on PowerPoint's "shrink text on overflow", which only takes effect once a slide is edited, so busy slides (such as three columns of bullets) opened with text running off the bottom. Kova now scales the text down to fit before exporting, and warns you if a slide is too full to fit even at half size (reported by @a1880, #272).
Known issues
- Icons in exported PPTX files show as blank boxes unless the machine opening the file has Symbols Nerd Font installed, as the icon font isn't embedded in the file (reported by @a1880, #272).
