Codebase Observatory v0.4.0

Choose a tag to compare

@kraftaa kraftaa released this 18 Sep 15:39

Multi-language review impact

  • adds a shared language-analyzer contract
  • adds bounded Python analysis for functions, classes, methods, imports, consumers, and nearby tests
  • adds bounded Ruby/Rails analysis for classes, modules, methods, require_relative links, Rails constant consumers, and RSpec/test matches
  • adds bounded Rust analysis for functions, structs, enums, traits, modules, use/mod links, consumers, and tests
  • labels all three adapters partial and documents dynamic-dispatch, metaprogramming, and macro limitations
  • keeps JavaScript/TypeScript and GitHub Actions behavior intact

Validated with deterministic fixtures plus real Python and Rails changes.

Corrected workflow finding provenance

  • ties GitHub Actions findings to exact changed lines
  • distinguishes configuration present in an added workflow from modifications to an existing workflow
  • uses neutral, range-based wording without attributing authorship
  • includes change type, scope, and exact source-line evidence
  • ignores unchanged workflow permissions when unrelated lines change

Validated against the historical 253-line workflow example and the full automated test suite.

Codebase Observatory v0.3.0

@kraftaa kraftaa released this 17 Sep 20:13

Adds explicit analyzed, partial, classified-only, and unassessed coverage states. GitHub Actions changes now receive deterministic findings for triggers, token permissions, secret references, mutable action references, deployment environments, workflow size, and selected dangerous shell patterns. The review workspace is more compact and unsupported configuration is no longer labeled low priority.

Codebase Observatory v0.2.0

@kraftaa kraftaa released this 17 Sep 17:05

Adds a self-contained observatory review command that generates and opens the interactive diff review map from any local Git repository. The Homebrew package now includes the visualization, binds its local server to 127.0.0.1, cleans temporary data on shutdown, and supports --no-open and --port controls.

Codebase Observatory v0.1.0

  • deterministic Git diff impact JSON
  • changed JS/TS symbols and direct consumers
  • file-level blast radius and nearby-test signals
  • explainable review units and attention items
  • staged, unstaged, renamed, deleted, and untracked working-tree support
  • observatory --help and observatory --version

Install through Homebrew after the tap formula lands: brew install kraftaa/tap/observatory.
