Folio 1.0.1 is a macOS patch release for Apple Silicon.

Highlights

  • Fixes trackpad scrolling in the notes list on macOS.
  • Adds background update checks, Folio → Check for Updates…, and a restart prompt after an update downloads.
  • Preserves the active note before restarting to install an update.
  • Uses updater-compatible macOS ZIP artifact naming for future releases.

Installation and updater bootstrap

Folio 1.0.1 is the first release containing the updater, so users of 1.0.0 must install this release manually from the DMG. This build is ad-hoc signed and is not Apple-notarized; macOS may require you to control-click Folio, choose Open, and confirm. Because it does not yet use a consistent Developer ID signature, in-place automatic update installation is not guaranteed. Intel Macs are not supported by this build.

Meaning and Hybrid search download a local embedding model of approximately 300 MB when first initialized. Notes remain local Markdown files.

Verification

  • TypeScript build, ESLint, and all 57 tests passed.
  • The packaged qmd worker opened SQLite and initialized successfully.
  • The app bundle signature, DMG checksum, and ZIP archive were verified locally.
