Fixes repeated Keychain access and improves portability.

  • Reuse granted saved-account credentials in memory for the app session; skip unchanged credential saves.
  • Remove automatic Keychain label updates and background credential writes during account loading and usage refresh.
  • Stop automatic retry after Keychain access is denied. Reload saved accounts explicitly to retry.
  • Use a friendly “Codex Switcher — Saved account” label for explicit saves and new accounts. Existing entries remain untouched during reads; their old labels may remain.
  • Discover the installed Codex app by its bundle identity, including custom locations; report restart failures correctly.
  • Replace personal copyright text with generic project branding.

Distribution status

This is an ad hoc signed community build, not Apple-notarized. macOS may ask to approve the app and grant access to each saved account, especially after updates. The app cannot promise zero Keychain prompts. Developer ID signing and notarization require an Apple Developer membership, which the publisher does not currently have.

Install / update

Quit Codex Account Switcher, unzip the download, and replace the app in Applications. Saved accounts remain in Keychain. Requires Apple Silicon and macOS 14 or later.

If macOS blocks launching, use System Settings → Privacy & Security. Any native Keychain dialog asks for the password to your own Mac login Keychain; do not share it in chat.
