@robertdevore robertdevore released this 05 Nov 17:52

First public preview of Website Cloner: turn public WordPress sites into editable Kujo SSG projects on your own computer. AI is disabled by default.

Download and start

Download website-cloner-0.1.0.zip below and extract it. On macOS, double-click Install.command. On Linux, run bash install.sh from the extracted folder. Setup handles Node when needed, Kujo and app/browser dependencies, then opens the local builder. Read the README for system prerequisites.

The versioned ZIP contains source and the installer, not saved builds or preinstalled dependencies. SHA256SUMS.txt verifies the download. The main branch may contain newer changes.

Included

  • Standard and browser-assisted capture, local preview and ZIP export.
  • Markdown/frontmatter, shared templates, native collections/taxonomies and localized assets.
  • Search, feeds, sitemap, llms.txt and read-only WebMCP discovery.
  • Progress, stop/resume, checkpoint recovery and cached rebuilds.
  • SEO, accessibility, component and sampled visual checks.
  • Optional constrained CSS review with token receipts.
  • GitHub Pages and Cloudflare Pages publishing integrations.

Try the small WordPress demo. Report reproducible problems through GitHub Issues, without credentials or private site content.

Verification

ShipCheck 1.0.2 release gate passed: zero error-level failures and five warnings. Twenty-six focused safety/recovery tests passed locally; npm audit reported zero vulnerabilities. The no-AI demo completed in about 84 seconds with nine captured routes, no missing images or failed quality checks, and a successful Markdown edit/rebuild. These results establish tested scope, not universal 1:1 cloning.

Preview limitations

  • Fresh macOS installation has been exercised; real Debian/Ubuntu desktop acceptance is pending.
  • Hosting integrations have fixture coverage; live GitHub/Cloudflare account acceptance is pending.
  • CI is not active: the publishing connection lacks workflow-write permission. A tested core-check workflow template is included for maintainer activation.
  • Dedicated lint/format commands are not yet configured. ShipCheck also flags Kennel metadata and a Kujo entry point; this application is launched through Node/npm and invokes Kujo during builds.
  • Backend services such as comments, checkout, accounts and booking need replacements. Plugin compatibility is configuration-specific. AI review is not a content fact-checking guarantee.
  • The local builder is single-user and must not be exposed as a public hosted service.

See the changelog and known limits. This is a public preview, not a production-certification claim.
