Status Watchr macOS 1.0.2

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 26 Oct 17:00

Signed Apple Silicon macOS companion. Requires macOS 14+. Existing 0.1.x installations can update through Check for Updates; saved connection settings and Keychain credentials retain their established app identity. New installations use a user-configured server. This archive is signed with the established app certificate; Apple notarization is not claimed. Browser acceptance and physical phone delivery remain separate checks.

Status Watchr 1.1.0: Public dashboard refresh

Choose a tag to compare

@kylbutlr kylbutlr released this 23 Oct 06:52

Status Watchr 1.1.0 refreshes the public activity dashboard with clearer workspace hierarchy, readable activity displays, consistent spacing, and shared App Stylr input and dropdown styling.

  • Customize workspace/display names, dark or light appearance, comfortable or compact spacing, and the default activity view.
  • Follow the rewritten README for local setup, optional passwords, Mac connection, notification opt-in, privacy, and updates.
  • Preserve ingestion authentication and the separation between display preferences, watches, and notification permissions.

Download the server archive to run locally with Node.js 24 or newer, or the source archive for development. SHA256SUMS and file manifests are included. Native Mac downloads and the Sparkle update feed are published separately under macos-v tags; this server archive does not install the Mac app.

Verification: 159 web/server tests, the standalone HTTP rehearsal, type checking, the build, and packaging passed. Native tests executed 123 cases, with five opt-in skips and no failures. Final focused checks and archive README link/image checks also passed. Fresh rendered acceptance and physical phone delivery remain separate, unverified checks.

Download and run

Download status-watchr-server-1.0.0.tar.gz, verify it against SHA256SUMS, and extract it into a fresh directory. With Node.js 24 or newer:

npm ci --omit=dev
npm run start:local

Open http://127.0.0.1:4288/. Stop with Ctrl+C. This explicitly chooses passwordless loopback access. The server creates persistent embedded storage and owner-only local secrets under data/. Local passwords are optional; remote/hosted access retains authentication. Preserve data/ when updating.

The source download includes the web/server application and a source-only macOS companion, requiring macOS 14+ and Swift 6.2+. There is no prebuilt/notarized Mac download or public automatic-update feed in this release. The public companion uses separate preferences, Keychain storage, queues, telemetry, and hook port 48732, preserving the private pilot's port 48731. Native ingestion still requires its separate token, even with a passwordless local dashboard.

Phone access requires an HTTPS origin you control, explicit Web Push permission, and a delivery test. The release does not provision a domain, tunnel, proxy, or hosted account. See the included README, self-hosting, privacy, and Mac setup guides.

Verification and limits

The extracted source passed type checking, all 148 packaged tests, and its standalone build. The extracted server passed real HTTP checks for optional password modes, origin enforcement, authenticated ingestion, persisted restart, and static source exclusion. The complete checkout passed 157 web/server tests; native tests executed 123 cases with five opt-in integration cases skipped and zero failures. Hook coexistence was tested against a disposable hooks file. File manifests and SHA-256 are attached.

Fresh browser visual acceptance remains pending because Browser Use rejected authority over a stale error page. No installed companion, real monitoring, phone notifications, or private update feed was changed or exercised. Physical phone delivery and live Codex metadata compatibility are separate, unverified acceptance checks. This is a secondary notification signal; question detection is experimental and delivery is not guaranteed.
