Todo Trackr v1.1.1

@kylbutlr kylbutlr released this 07 Nov 16:55

Todo Trackr v1.1.1 improves first-run setup, phone task editing, and self-hosted release reliability.

Changes

  • Add labeled phone navigation for task views, lists, sources, and settings.
  • Keep Save changes and conflict feedback visible in the phone editor.
  • Fix Quick Capture setup when Chrome closes its popup for native server-access approval. Reopen the popup to resume without entering the address again.
  • Update dependencies and make native-source verification work in source archives without Git metadata.
  • Refresh installation and source-only Mac documentation.

Downloads

  • Fresh Docker installation: download todo-trackr-source-1.1.1.tar.gz and follow self-hosting.
  • Existing PostgreSQL installation: download todo-trackr-server-1.1.1.tar.gz for the compiled server and web workspace.
  • Chromium Quick Capture: download todo-trackr-extension-1.1.1.zip, extract it, and follow the extension instructions. Unpacked extensions update manually.
  • Verify downloads against SHA256SUMS.

Mac distribution remains source only. This release does not introduce a prebuilt Mac app or change a native update feed. Existing installations should back up their database and configuration before upgrading. Password protection stays the default; passwordless access must be explicitly configured.

Verification

313 source tests, five standalone integration tests, typecheck, migration/version checks, builds, clean source extraction and runtime installation, and a zero-finding dependency audit passed. Hosted web/API and native workflows passed for the release candidate. Fresh Docker/PostgreSQL acceptance covered both authentication modes, restart persistence/alarms, conflicting edits, task recovery, and database backup restoration. The actual installed extension passed native permission approval, setup recovery, ordinary-page capture with source URL, and disconnect cleanup in an isolated Google Chrome for Testing profile.

Physical notification display, phone software keyboards, and installed password-mode extension login remain separate device-specific limits. See the verification record.

v1.1.0

@kylbutlr kylbutlr released this 07 Nov 06:19

Refresh the application with the immutable App Stylr v1.4.1 foundation, precise controls, charcoal/Sage surfaces and palette-independent Graphite artwork. Existing foreground symbols are retained in scalable masters and high-resolution exports.

Fresh actual-interface GIFs and WebP stills use fictional data and carry source provenance.

Download the server, Chromium extension or source package and verify it with SHA256SUMS. Mac distribution remains source-only, with manual builds and no signed update feed. Back up your database before updating.

Validation: Typecheck, the 305-test suite, web/server builds and the Swift source build passed. Desktop task/detail panels and the phone layout were reviewed using a disposable database with fictional tasks.

These visual/source checks do not establish full installed-extension, signed-native, live-integration or production-data acceptance.

Source and setup

Packaging compatibility restoration: the source/server downloads now bundle the exact original App Stylr dependency archive. Application code, compiled runtime files and signed native/browser downloads are unchanged. Source/server archive checksums were updated accordingly.

Todo Trackr v1.0.0

Todo Trackr is an open-source personal task manager you can run on your own infrastructure. This release provides a standalone server/web workspace, a Chromium Quick Capture extension, and macOS source code.

Included

  • A Node.js 24/PostgreSQL server, compiled web workspace, and Docker Compose setup.
  • Tasks, lists, priorities, due dates, stars, persistent attention alarms, and recovery/export.
  • Explicit password protection or passwordless access for a deliberately private installation.
  • Server selection in companion clients, without requiring App Switchr, Shortcut, Granola, Codex, or a maintainer-hosted account.
  • MIT licensing, contribution guidance, privacy notes, and versioned installation instructions.

Downloads

  • todo-trackr-server-1.0.0.tar.gz: compiled server/web runtime and migrations. Requires Node.js 24 and PostgreSQL.
  • todo-trackr-extension-1.0.0.zip: extract and load unpacked in Chromium. Update manually by replacing files and reloading the extension.
  • todo-trackr-source-1.0.0.tar.gz: source, build inputs, and documentation, excluding historical private native update binaries.
  • SHA256SUMS: checksums for these downloads.

Start with the self-hosting guide and extension instructions.

Scope and verification

One owner uses each installation. Multi-account hosting and general-purpose work-system adapters are outside v1. The existing hosted adapters retain legacy mappings and are disabled in standalone mode.

The Mac client is source-only in this release. No paid Apple Developer membership or notarized download is required. Source builds use manual updates.

Automated checks and the Docker/PostgreSQL rehearsal cover both password modes, concurrent edits, recovery/export, database dump/restore, restart persistence, and migration reruns. Native source compiles and passes its test suite. An installed Chromium-extension permission/capture check remains unverified; automated capture-flow tests do not establish that browser-level acceptance. See the release plan for the evidence boundary and development-only dependency notes.
