KinTerm 0.1.9
What's new
- Grid view. See every tab of a window at once, as live terminals you can type in. Press ⌘⇧E, click the grid button after + in the agent tab bar (shown once a window has 2 or more tabs), or choose View › Show Tabs in Grid. Tiles are laid out as evenly as possible, and a tab with splits keeps them inside its tile.
- Click to focus. Click a terminal to type in it. The focused tile is outlined in its tab color, and the others dim. In the grid, clicking a face in the tab bar focuses that tile.
- Back to tabs. Press ⌘⇧E again, click a tile's expand button, or double-click its header. The tab you were in stays selected. New tabs join the grid, and closing a tile closes its tab.

What's new
- Any color for a tab. Right-click a tab in the agent tab bar for Tab Color, then pick from the palette or choose Custom Color… to open the color panel. The color outlines the tab, so it shows alongside an account's tint, and it comes back when you reopen a window or undo closing a tab.
- Rename from the tab bar. Right-click a tab and choose Rename Tab….
- More account colors. Accounts have 16 named colors instead of 6, each with a swatch in the menu, plus Custom Color… for any other color. Account tints in the tab bar are a little stronger, so they're easier to tell apart.

KinTerm 0.1.7
What's new
- See what's still running. When Claude Code finishes a turn but leaves shells running in the background, like a dev server, the face now shows a blue badge with how many. The face stays happy: Claude is done and waiting on you.
- See how many agents share a tab. A tab whose splits hold more than one agent gets a gray badge with the count. With both, the agents badge sits in front and the shells badge peeks out behind it. Hover the tab for both numbers.
- The badges are everywhere the faces are: the tab bar, the menu bar menu and the agents panel, in every face set.
- A silver icon. The app icon's face drops the brushed-metal streaks and takes the same gloss as the status faces, so they read as one set.
- The Claude Code hook updates itself. KinTerm now refreshes an installed hook when it launches, so hook changes like the shell count reach you without reinstalling it.

KinTerm 0.1.6
What's new
- A new icon. KinTerm's icon is one glossy, brushed-aluminium face with a blue
>prompt for eyes, in place of the two faces on a dark tile. - Glossy status faces in the Dock. When an agent is working, needs you, finishes or hits an error, the Dock icon still turns that state's color and face, now with the same gloss and depth.

What's new
- The menu bar menu stays on its icon. Opening the agents menu in the menu bar while agents were changing state could leave it stuck at the far edge of the screen. It now stays put under its icon until you close it.
- Live faces and times in that menu. The agents' faces move as they do in the tabs, and how long each has been working ticks while the menu is open.
- Release notes that are KinTerm's. The update window's View Release Notes now opens KinTerm's release page on GitHub instead of Ghostty's site, starting with the update after this one.
- Help › KinTerm Help opens KinTerm's README.

KinTerm 0.1.4 offers this update on its own, or use KinTerm › Check for Updates…. New here? Download KinTerm.dmg below, open it and drag KinTerm to Applications. Requires macOS 13 or later.

KinTerm 0.1.4
What's new
- A sound for each agent state. When an agent you're not looking at needs you, finishes or stops with an error, KinTerm plays that state's own sound, so you can tell which without looking: Ping when it needs you, Glass when it's done, Basso on an error. It plays even with notifications turned off, and agent notifications no longer play the generic macOS sound on top of it.
- Choose or mute them in View › Agent Sounds, from the tab bar's right-click menu (Sounds), or on the Setup Assistant's Stay in the loop page, where each state's pill plays its sound. Any macOS system sound works, or None.

KinTerm 0.1.3
What's new
- Notifications show the agent's face. The image on a notification is now the agent's face in that state, in the face set you picked, so it matches your tabs: amber and surprised when it needs you, green and happy when it's done, red with X eyes when it stops with an error. It used to be a generic
>_with a coloured dot.

KinTerm 0.1.2
KinTerm is the terminal for AI coding agents. Every tab is a face that shows what its agent is doing, so you know who's working, who's done and who needs you, without opening a single tab.
This is the first public release.
What's in it
- A face on every tab: idle, working, waiting on you, done and error, in six face sets and three sizes, with the tab bar on any side
- A hover card with the agent's last message, context used, git branch and account
- Notifications, a dock icon that acts as a status light, and a menu bar summary
- The Agents panel (⌘⇧A) and ⌘J to jump to the agent waiting on you
- Several Claude accounts, each with its own colour, and ⌥⌘1–9 to open a tab with one
- A Setup Assistant that installs the Claude Code hook for you
- OSC 7501, so any agent or script can show a face
