RideCut v0.6.0

@larkincrain larkincrain released this 06 Nov 17:12

Music now fills the gaps: drone clips and muted clips get the soundtrack, and your ride audio stays everywhere else.

  • In the Music tab, choose where the track plays: "in the gaps" (clips with no audio, and clips you muted) or "entire video". One continuous track plays underneath, fading in and out at each gap, and what you hear in the app is what gets exported.
  • Build a track your way. Pick a style or Custom, then set Tempo, Energy, Mood, Instruments and Vocals, or describe it in words. Choose a length that matches the gaps or the whole cut, with the usage shown before you generate.
  • See your soundtrack on the timeline. A strip under the ride timeline shows the cut in order with the track's waveform, amber where the music is heard. Click a clip to jump there; the playhead follows playback.
  • The Music tab is now three clear sections: Soundtrack, New track and Library.
  • Movie playback now lines up more precisely with the clip list.

Installers are available for Windows x64, macOS Apple Silicon, and macOS Intel. Existing users can update from inside RideCut.

Colour matching is here: GoPro, drone and phone clips now cut together without the colour jumping.

  • Open the Colour tab beside the preview and turn on Match cameras. Every clip in your cut is matched to one reference clip.
  • Claude suggests the reference and checks the result. Choose a different one with "Use current clip as reference"; your choice is kept when you re-analyze.
  • Add a look on top: Natural, Warm golden hour, Punchy, Cool morning, Faded film or Moody forest, or describe your own. Set how strong it is with the intensity slider.
  • Before and after stills show the reference and the clips that changed most, and update in seconds as you change settings.
  • Colour matching is part of RideCut Pro and uses a few cents of usage per movie. If your usage runs out, clips are still matched by measurement.

Installers are available for Windows x64, macOS Apple Silicon, and macOS Intel. Existing users can update from inside RideCut.

Music is now part of editing your ride, with a shared library and project-wide audio controls.

  • Open the Music tab beside the preview. Choose a style preset and optionally describe the music you want.
  • Generated tracks save to your shared library for reuse across rides. Previewing and reusing a track spend no additional usage.
  • Adjust Music and Ride audio independently with project-level volume sliders and mute controls. Hear the mix while playing the editable cut, then export with those settings.
  • See monthly usage as a percentage, with purchased usage shown separately. Generation shows its estimated usage before you start.
  • Explore Pro inside the app, then subscribe securely in your browser. Top up with a $5, $10, or $20 one-time purchase and return to your original task after confirmation.
  • Recover a generated song with Retry download rather than paying to generate it again. Attached tracks remain available for offline export.
  • Fixed the background-music mix lowering the ride audio instead of the music. Existing soundtrack choices migrate to the new volume controls.

Installers are available for Windows x64, macOS Apple Silicon, and macOS Intel. Existing users can update from inside RideCut.

RideCut Pro can now write a soundtrack for your ride: pick one of eight instrumental presets (classic rock, indie folk, synthwave, post-rock, lo-fi, cinematic, bluegrass, surf rock) or describe your own, then play it alone or under the ride sound when you render. Pro is now $10 a month and comes with a usage balance that covers Claude ranking and songs; the account bar shows how much is left, and you can top up $5, $10 or $20 inside the app when you need more. Ranking uses Claude Sonnet 5.5.

No video autoplays when you open a project or go home: a clip plays only when you click it. The ride list shows a still from your latest rendered movie. New Format choice when rendering: landscape (16:9) or portrait (9:16 for phones and social feeds, keeps the middle of each clip).

Cleaner interface: colours from the RideCut logo, a calmer review page (controls appear on the row you're on, the movie panel shows once a render exists), a single-column home page, and settings grouped with the tuning knobs under Advanced. The app also stops showing a stale interface after an update.
