The Stupid Browser 1.6.9
- A download that stopped can always be removed or retried. One that stopped when the browser closed shows as interrupted, with Retry and a remove button. The remove button also stops a download that is still running.
The Stupid Browser 1.6.8
- Connect your calendar on the new tab works again: it opens the field for your calendar's private address.
- The Buddy button wears your Buddy: the hiker shows the hiker, a blue Buddy shows blue, and so on. It changes as soon as you change his look.
The Stupid Browser 1.6.7
- Reader view: the book button in the address bar shows just the article, in your size and theme (Light, Sepia or Dark). Esc closes.
- Sync between computers, without an account: Settings → Sync. Pick a folder your cloud drive already syncs (OneDrive, Dropbox, iCloud Drive, Google Drive) and a passphrase. Bookmarks, passwords and cards stay the same on every computer, encrypted before they leave yours.
- Payment cards in private windows too.
- Buddy lives on the AI button. Press Ctrl+Shift+U, or right-click → Summarize this page with Buddy.
The Stupid Browser 1.6.6
- Google sign-in, second try: on Google's sign-in page the browser now presents itself as Google Chrome in every way Google checks.
- Memory usage in the tab card: hover over a tab to see how much memory it uses, like in Chrome.
The Stupid Browser 1.6.5
- Smoother everywhere: menus, pop-ups and suggestions glide in and out, switching tabs crossfades, and buttons press in when you click them. It all costs no extra memory.
The Stupid Browser 1.6.4
- Sign in to Google: Google no longer says the browser “may not be secure”. You can sign in to Gmail, YouTube, Drive and the rest.
The Stupid Browser 1.6.3
- Save your cards: when you pay on a secure site, the browser offers to save the card. Next time, click the card number field and pick it: number, name and expiry are filled in. The card is encrypted on this computer, and the security code is never saved.
- Settings → Payment methods: see your saved cards, delete them, or turn it off.
The Stupid Browser 1.6.2
- Your calendar on the New Tab page: connect Google Calendar, Outlook or iCloud in the Calendar widget (its settings), and it shows what's coming up, with Now on what's happening.
- The logo opens the menu: click the logo in the corner, like in Vivaldi.
- Cleaner address bar: the Ask Buddy button is gone (Shift+Enter still searches with Buddy).
The Stupid Browser 1.6.1
- Uses far less memory: new tabs you've left behind fall asleep after 30 seconds, and sleeping tabs now work as they should. With eight sites open and then closed, the browser uses about 40 % less memory.
- Calmer at rest: less CPU when you're not doing anything.
- Tabs where you've started typing something never fall asleep.
The Stupid Browser 1.6.0
- Search with Buddy: Buddy searches the web, reads the best pages and answers with sources. Press Shift+Enter in the address bar, pick “Search with Buddy”, or turn on the Ask Buddy button.
- Screenshots: Ctrl+Shift+X, drag over the part you want. It's copied right away, so Ctrl+V puts it in any chat, or drag it out.
- Screen recordings: Menu → Screen recording. Drag over a part of the page, press Stop, and drag the video into a chat.
- Undo a closed tab with one click.
- Drop files on the tab bar to open them.
