Merge overload which takes a branch

repo.Merge(branch, new Signature(...));

It should allow Merge Options to prevent fast-forward like #662

Indeed. Also, fetch heads. (This is orthogonal to fast forward, however, using a branch / fetch head instead of a commit just makes the commit message and conflict markers prettier.)

hmmm.... I agree that we need to expose a method to take branch, but I am not sure about fetch heads. I was thinking fetch heads would only be accessible through a Pull method, which is contained in PR #643.
