This is intended to prevent resource leaks in certain use cases, where a large number of short-lived proxies are constantly created/deleted through API.
If the client fails to delete the proxy it created, it will be deleted automatically after a specified time period.
Functionality is disabled by default, and turned on by a command line argument -ttl
