Release list
Cursor Selector 1.4.2
- Buy me a pizza, a new button in the sidebar. It is optional and opens our Buy Me a Coffee page in your browser. It goes toward code signing and a Steam listing.
Cursor Selector 1.4.1
- A new icon, brighter and easier to spot in the taskbar. It is on the window, the sidebar and the Start menu.
- What's new now shows a picture for each release.
Cursor Selector 1.4.0
- What's new lives in Cursor Selector now. Every release, by month. It opens once after an update, and any time from What's new in the sidebar.
- Your cursor library and the backup of your original cursors moved to
%AppData%\ProtagonistLabs\Cursor Selector, beside the other Protagonist Labs apps. It happened by itself the first time 1.4 started. - The scheme you're using keeps working: Windows is pointed at the cursors' new place.
- Cursor Selector is still one portable .exe. Open Library folder takes you to the new place.
Cursor Selector 1.3.2
- The program file now carries its publisher, product name, version and description (Properties → Details), plus a proper Windows manifest. Some antivirus programs flagged earlier versions as suspicious because the file said nothing about where it came from.
- No change to how the app works.
Cursor Selector 1.3.1
- Cursor Selector now looks for a new version every hour while it runs, and still checks a few seconds after it starts.
- If clicking the version can't reach GitHub (no connection, or GitHub is busy), it now says so instead of "No newer version found".
- A copy saved under another name, like
CursorSelector (1).exe, now updates itself too.
Cursor Selector 1.3.0
- Cursor Selector now keeps itself up to date: a newer version is downloaded in the background, checked, and used the next time you open the app. Nothing to install, no restart prompt.
- Click the name and version at the top of the sidebar to check for updates yourself.
Cursor Selector 1.2.0
- Cursor Selector now leaves a small card in
%APPDATA%\ProtagonistLabsso the other Protagonist Labs apps can tell it's installed. Your cursor library stays portable next to the app, and nothing is sent anywhere. - If you own one of our paid apps, a quiet line in the sidebar lists the others at 30% off.
Cursor Selector 1.1.0
The window got its own face.
The look
- The brand's typefaces (Bricolage Grotesque, IBM Plex Sans and Mono) now travel inside the executable, so the app no longer falls back to Segoe UI on a machine where they are not installed.
- Each cursor sits on a chip the size of the cursor instead of a pale slab, and the seventeen roles stand in five columns by the job they do: pointing, writing, status, sizing, extras.
- A faint accent glow behind the content, and the app's mark, name and version at the top of the sidebar.
The library list
- Every scheme shows its own arrow beside its name.
- A search field,
Ctrl+Fto reach it,Downto step into the list. - One heading where the Windows-registered schemes begin, instead of a badge on all 28 rows; an
ACTIVEpill on the scheme in use. - Right-click a scheme to show its files, or to remove it from the library (to the Recycle Bin, and only folders in
Library\).
Saying what happened
- Click a cursor to see it at 128px with its file name, size and frame count.
- The apply button reads Already applied, and goes quiet, when the chosen scheme is the one in use; applying or restoring is confirmed for three seconds in the status line.
- An empty card explains itself when a search matches nothing, or when the library is empty.
